I had a vaginal hysterectomy this past June. Dr. Fok did my surgery, and I couldn't believe how smooth it went. Not only did the surgery go smoothly, but the care I received from St. Mary's hospital was wonderful. Everyone was so caring and polite. My surgery was in the morning and after I was out of recovery Dr. Fok stopped in to see how I was feeling. He returned again that evening before he went home to see how I was doing. He is a great doctor and surgeon. I went home less than 24 hours after having the surgery. The pain was so minimal after I was home that I just relied on a few Ibuprofen every so often. Before my surgery my monthly period was extremely painful and lasted up to 6 days. I tried several different pain killers, but nothing stopped the pain. Since my hysterectomy I feel fantastic. As my aunt told me right before I had my surgery...it's the best gift you can give yourself.
