After years of putting it off, I finally had to get a hysterectomy to deal with large fibroids and excrutiating periods. The first time I met Dr. Haas, she came in the room with a big smile on her face and put me at ease right away.
She indicated to me that she would be able to do my hyster vaginally as opposed to having to cut me open, even though I had a large uterus and large fibroids. Through my research on the internet, I know that most doctors would not have had the skill to do that.
After the surgery, she told me that my case was a challenge but that she loves challenges and everything went fine. The only time I had some pain was when I first woke up, got some pain meds and never had an ounce of pain after that. I was in the hospital one night and felt almost completely normal three days later as opposed to feeling lousy for 6 weeks.
I can't remember now how many years she's been doing this, but when she told me at the time, I remember thinking that that was quite a while and that she obviously had a lot of experience.
I feel very blessed that I had such a skilled surgeon do my procedure.
