After more than two years of dealing with debilitating pain and extremely heavy bleeding during menstrual cycles with bleeding lasting 9-14 days and my regular doctor saying it was normal, just recommending OTC pain killers, I decided to seek another opinion. I decided to call the Women’s Health Group in Manhattan, Kansas because I felt they would be more knowledgeable since they were specialists in women’s health and because there were several doctors that I could choose from. After one simple test, the cause of my problems was determined and after discussing all my options Dr. Gros and I determined the best course of action for me was a hysterectomy. The care I received from Dr. Gros, The Women’s Health Group, and The Manhattan Surgical Center (where my surgery was performed) was impeccable. I was encouraged to communicate any fears, concerns, or questions I had and felt comfortable doing so. Dr. Gros was very understanding and took the time to answer all of my (many) questions and he never once made me feel rushed or silly for asking. He was so relaxed, comforting, and competent that I never once doubted him or his ability to perform this procedure. I was told exactly what to expect and was given and followed post surgery instructions. It has been over five months since my surgery and I feel better than I have in years and had zero complications. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience, which was so comforting since I am only 37 and had never had any major surgical procedure done before.

Dr. Gros and everybody at The Women’s Heath Group and The Manhattan Surgical Center that I came into contact with before, during, and after my surgery were so friendly, understanding, and proficient. I highly recommend Dr. Gros, as well as The Women’s Health Group as a whole and the Manhattan Surgical Center. They all played a major role in getting me through such a potentially terrifying experience. If I had it all to do over again, I wouldn’t change one single thing.
