Dr. Hanauer saved my life! He is one of the best in the country!!! I wouldn't go to anyone else. Been seeing him for 23 years. He is now at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Fifteen years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with Crohns at Northwestern. We were forunate enough to get an appointment with Dr Hanauer who directed her care, and she has been in remission ever since. He is brillant, and extremely dedicated to his patients and his life's work. To any worried mother, his is your man.

Dr. Hanauer is a wonderful gastroenterologist. He saved my colon after a suburban Chicago hospital wanted to rush me into surgery asap to remove it. I was able to transfer to the University of Chicago Hospital through the kind help of Dr. Hanauer (not an easy thing to do!) and after 5 days of treatment I was able to go home and have been problem free (ulcerative colitis) for 7 years.
He is one of the very top people in his field and a very nice person. He believed that I would get better when I didn't and every day he would come and tell me to "think positive."
His treatment worked and I am eternally grateful to him. I wish all UC and Crohn's disease patients could go to him. Doctors come from all over the world to study his methods.
