Suggestions & Reviews for Mark David ADELSON MD

Dr. Adelson is straightforward. He tells it like it is, and he does not sugarcoat the details. He answers questions, and pays attention to his patients' concerns. He is very skilled in laparoscopic gynecological surgery. My recovery has been relatively quick and painless compared to others who have had similar surgeries by other surgeons. I was able to leave the hospital the same day I had a hysterectomy.

Dr. Adelson is a great Gynecological Oncology surgeon!
He recently performed my hysterectomy and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. He was recomended by 3 different doctors and has an excellent reputation throughout the north country of NY. I had to travel 2 1/2 hours one way to be treated by him and other patients have to travel even further! He understands how exhausting and expensive that is for his patients and does everything he can to cause them less trips.

It took almost 3 months to get an appointment with him, but that wasn't his or his staff's fault. I dealt with only one individual who was rude and lacked social skills on the telephone. All the other gals in his office were caring, compassionate and extremely efficient!

When other gynecologists said I was not a candidate for a laproscopic hysterectomy, Dr. Adelson said "no problem" and saved me a great deal of pain and lengthy recovery time.

Dr. Adelson also checks the surrounding lymph nodes for signs of cancer while he is in surgery. Not all doctors in his field are this thorough. I was informed before surgery that he would be performing more extensive proceedures if he found any problems. I was fortunate enough to have a quick, successful surgery. The woman before me wasn't so lucky. My surgery was delayed for 3 hours, due to complications found during her proceedure. The long wait was frustrating for my family, but it only assured me that he would be doing the same for me, if he found my cancer had spread to other areas!

Dr. Adelson still kept a sense of humor with me (he has a dry sense of humor) even though I could tell he was tired from the previous patient's long surgery. Who could ask for a better Dr. than that!

Put me at ease with the choice of the total laproscopic hyterectomy. I have been treated and had surgery for endometriosis about 6 years ago and had the doctor I had at the time put me in the direction Dr. Adelson had, I would not of suffered from all the symptoms I had for years. His expierence in his field and the knowledge he has was great and I would recommend him to anyone. His bedside manner is not very sweet but really not what I was looking for, I needed a doctor with great knowledge and the gift to get the job done and be successful in the end result.

Dr. Adelson did my complete hysterectomy and I was home the same day with only tylenol feeling great. I my only problem was I wish I had known about him years ealier. I suffered for years with horrible bleeding and asked doctors over and over for a hysterectomy only be told no, or not yet. Dr. Adelson is extremely thorough and professional and committed to his patients. He is fabulous.

I had a complete hysterectomy done laporoscopically by Dr. Adelson at Crouse Hospital. I went home the same day as surgery with little to no pain or bleeding. The nurses at Crouse were terrific and all recommended Dr. Adelson highly. He is an excellent surgeon and did a marvelous job.

Dr. Adelson is very empathetic. My mom has ovarian LMS, and I developed tumors in my uterus. My "specialist" ob/gyn ignored my concerns. My mom and her oncologist suggested that I be aggressive with treatment as I was also having symptoms. Dr. Adelson was the first provider that actually took the time to listen to my symptoms, history and concerns. I had a complete vaginal hysterectomy on 12/10/08, and am awaiting the pathology results.. Dr. Adelson is one of the best in his field, and was recommended to me by my mom and her oncologist.

I highly recommend Dr. Adelson! He was able to figure out what was going on with after being in the hospital for over a week, because no one else had a clue. Not only did he figure it out, but he helped to fix it! He has a wonderful bedside manner and is very informative. Also, he thinks "out of the box" when it comes to pain management and HRT. He's a blessing in this field!

After years of being thrown to doctor after doctor, having test after test run to find out what was going on with me I was finally referred by my OB to Dr. Adelson in 2002. He had a hunch what was going on, did a lap to confirm and removed the Endo that had put me in pain for so many years. 10 months later it came back and he went in and removed it. After having my 3rd child and having horrible menstral cycles I went back yet again to figure out a plan. With my medical history we decided to go ahead with the Hysto. I have to say it was one of the best medical decsions I could have made. I feel 100% better. He actually listens to what you have to say and works with you on treatment options. It is not a case of what he wants to do. It is a desicion based on years of knowledge, expierence and what is best. I would never change doctors. It is worth the wait to see such an Amazing Doc!

Bedside manner - not the warmest or fuzziest - but he admits that up front. He has a wealth of knowledge on the subject of hysterectomy and made me feel confident in my decision to use him - he was also recommended to me by another Syracuse surgeon - simply saying, he's the best in his field.

I started going to him 6 yrs ago. I was distraut, untrustful, and questioned everything a doctor did. I was a basket case physically and emotionally. We were ending 4 yrs of fertility treatments and medical whirlwind.
He worked with me on both levels and let me feel like I had a measure of control over my treatments. He talked to me, explained things, and most of all listened.
He did my hysterectomy. His words when I finally agreed after 5 years of his yearly suggesting it - getting told NO - and trying more medications - was I see YOU are ready.
He did not pressure me. He always answers my questions and concerns. Most of all he talks TO ME - not at me or over me.
He is great !!

He is a gynecological oncologist. He performed two laparoscopic surgeries on me to remove ovarian cysts and scar tissue. He came highly recommended by my gynecologist and fellow patients of his. Before my surgeries, he was very thorough in his testing to anticipate any problems. Both procedures went just as planned. His staff worked to get my surgery moved up when I was having discomfort, which I greatly appreciated. Also, they called me 3 days after my surgery to check on me. Highly recommend!
