Dr. Gill is an amazing gynecologist! I don't know where I'd be without him.
I had been suffering from endometriosis for many years. I saw 4 different OBGYNs and had multiple surgeries, including having my left tube and ovary removed at 26, but nothing seemed to work and they had pretty much told me there was nothing else they could do.
Then, I met Dr. Gill. I was pregnant and had many complications; broken ribs, torn cartilage between the ribs, severe abdominal pain, back pain, etc. I could call him at any time, any day, as many times as I needed and he never made me feel like I was inconveniencing him or freaking out over nothing. If I had any questions about anything he was very informative and made sure I understood. He even researched into different medications and other physical problems I was having and would get the information to me as soon as he learned something.
After I gave birth, my endo pain got extremely worse. He tried me on Depot Lupron and it ended up not working and making things worse for me. He and I sat down and talked over the option of hysterectomy many many times and he gave me ALL the information about the pros and cons on the surgery. I had tried everything else and since I did have a baby, which other dr.s told me I wasnt gonna be able to have, I felt it was better to have it ALL taken out then to suffer and not be the mom I needed to be.
He gave me all the information on 2 procedures, one done all by Dr. and the other being the daVinci. I went with the daVinci. He found endo and adenomyosis, so, it happens that it was the only way to stop my pain.
Besides my hips and my stomach being a lil sore, I healed quickly and I feel NO PAIN. =D
Since my Hysterectomy, Dr. Gill has tried me on two different patches; Estraderm and Vivelle Dot, which didnt work for me. I am now, and have been since January '09, on the Femring, which has been great. He also helped me get the Femring approved with my insurance, so, instead of $150 it's now $45!
Like I said at the beginning, I dont know where I'd be without Dr. Gill. I wasnt sure about having a male OBGYN, but he really was, and is, the nicest and the best doctor I've seen. I always have felt comfortable talking with him about anything, even the embarrassing stuff. =)
Thank you Dr. Gill! You gave me my life back!
