It is difficult to find the words to describe Dr. Showalter. She is a highly skilled surgeon and astute diagnostician, but most importantly she is compassionate listener and partners with her patients to find the best solution. I had seen several OB/GYN's over the years. She was the first to give me real choices, choices based on a thorough evaluation and an understanding of the most current medical research. She reserves medical and surgical interventions only if they are clearly necessary exhausting non-pharmaceutical and low tech options whenever possible.
I am an health care provider myself (a Nurse Practitioner) and a fierce patient advocate. I only recommend providers in whom I have complete confidence. I highly recommend Dr. Showalter - her reputation as a compassionate, kind and skilled physician are richly deserved.
