My gynecologist sent me to Dr. Mayer for consultation because of post menopausal bleeding due to a uterine fibroid and ovarian cysts. She said I would need a hysterectomy. I was nervous due to the fact he is a gynecological oncologist. Being a health care professional for many years, I knew what this could mean. He was the kindest, gentlest, most compassionate physician I have encountered in all my years in the medical profession. He took the time to explain everything and answered all my questions and concerns without hesitation. He made me feel as if I was the only patient he had.
