After my son was born I started having difficulty breathing, while the other staff at the hospital was trying to convince me that I had aspiration pneumonia, Dr. Tyler Prouty suggested testing for Peripartum Cardiomyopathy - a diagnosis that saved my life. During the five days I was in ICU he came and checked on me everyday. When I was transferred to another hospital, he called to check on me everyday. Thanks to Dr. Prouty's early diagnosis, I am here today. When I went to his office three years after my son was born (I was seeing another doctor because Dr. Prouty didn't have any availability) he asked the other doctor why he was seeing me and he remembered my name. I actually ended up seeing Dr. Prouty that day and a month later he did my hysterectomy (with some additional repairs). After the surgery, the first thing I remember when I woke up was him standing beside me and holding my hand telling me how great everything went.
What doctor do you know of that continues to follow up on a patient once they've been transferred AND remembers them three years later? He has a wonderful bedside manner, he describes things in a way that anyone can understand, he's got a great sense of humor and he knows the right time to use it. I trust this man with my life and I would (and do) recommend him to everyone!
