I received a LAVH and removal of both ovaries in March 2017 due to severe endometriosis, endometrioma cysts on both ovaries, uterine fibroids and both ovaries were attached to my bowel by the endo. Dr. McBee is a gynecologic oncologist so I felt confident that he would be able locate small sites of endo and remove them during the procedure. It has been 4 years since Dr. McBee performed my total hysterectomy and I have done wonderfully. I'm so thankful to have found Dr. McBee as doctors with his training are few in WV. I drove 2 hours to Morgantown, WV so Dr. McBee would perform my hysterectomy.

He was recommended to me by a retired gynecologist friend of mine who had done some research to find the cream of the crop for another female friend of his who was in need of gynecological surgery. Dr. McBee was the one he strongly urged me to see for a second opinion. He is a gynecologic oncologist who sees non-oncology patients as well (thankfully). His office has been great at scheduling my appointments and answering my questions.

Dr. McBee had obviously studied my file before he walked in. Confident, personable, professional, respectful. He explained clearly what was going on and gave me my options. I will make my final decision within the next 17 days - the day of my surgery. Most likely both ovaries and uterus will be removed.

I have spoken with other women on whom he has operated and have heard nothing but glowing comments and total confidence in his skill as a surgeon and knowledge as a doctor. While I admit that I'm not looking forward to being cut open and having parts taken out, I'm eager to be done with this part of my journey and am grateful that he's available to be the one to do the cutting and taking parts out.

I don't know if it's possible to add to this recommendation later, but if so, I will add to it after my surgery.

Dr. McBee is a wonderful gynecologic oncologist. I was dealing with a pretty bad case of endometriosis and Dr. McBee performed my laproscopic hysterectomy. He was able to perform my surgery in an hour and 45 minutes. My recovery thus far (9 days) has been pretty uneventful and I think this is in part due to his competence as a Surgeon. Dr. McBee also has a good bedside manner and is more than willing to answer any and all questions. His staff at Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology of Mon General Hospital are also great people.

He is a GYN oncology surgeon- or whatever the correct term is for all three of those specialties. Thank God I do not have cancer but Dr. McBee performed my total laprascopic hysterectomy for 'post ablation syndrome' and removed a cyst on the right ovary. He also removed my appendix due to chronic right abdominal pain. He left my ovaries and keeps reminding me that age 38, I really need to try to keep them as long as possible.... I wanted everything out and "to be done with all of this". If I continue having the pain we will revisit the situation.

His bedside manner is very compassionate and will be upfront about everything. I also asked around and found some of his former med school classmates who said I was in excellent hands.

He is associated with Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. My hospital experience was also excellent.
