Dr. Ivy is a gynecologic oncologist in my area of Arkansas and I was referred to him for a hysterectomy due to months of abnormal uterine bleeding, ovarian cysts, and chronic, severe pelvic pain. Dr. Ivy listened to my concerns and then we discussed my options. He explained the risks involved with the surgery and with surgical menopause if I decided to not keep my ovaries. He told me I was a candidate for the da Vinci Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy and gave me a brochure detailing this new technology. I was very impressed with his politeness and patience during my appt. Due to the pain I was in, Dr. Ivy scheduled my surgery for the following week. I was very happy that he was able to get me on the surgery schedule so quickly, as I didn't want to suffer one more day. The day of my surgery he visited with me in the holding area and reassured me that everything would go smoothly in the OR. I have had the absolute best surgical experience ever with Dr. Ivy and the da Vinci Robotic Technology. I only spent one night in the hospital and the next morning Dr. Ivy's PA came to talk to me about my medications, discharge and follow up instructions. She was very nice and answered all my questions. As of today, I am waiting on my pathology report and I see Dr. Ivy tomorrow for my post-op appt. I can say without a doubt he is one of the most caring and compassionate surgeons I have ever worked with. I would not hesitate to see him again in the future or to refer him to friends or family. His office is comfortable, warm and inviting and his staff is friendly and attentive to each individual's needs.
