Great experience!

For most people, dentists are not popular folks. Dr. Karla. E Aylen and Northgate Smiles are the "huge" exception. My experience with dentist is usually highly "transactional" in that they try to "push" products and services on to you. Dr. Aylen is the complete opposite. Their patient care is off the charts. Not only was she very personable and caring during all my procedures with included a root canal and insertion of crown, etc., but her team follow-on care was tremendous. Services were excellent and everything was explained in detail. Furthermore, the staff is very courteous and always greets guests with patience and a smile. They are knowledgeable, caring and efficient. Couple this with great state of the art equipment and you will have an excellent experience.

Firstly - in the interest of transparency I would like to say that Northgate Smiles gives a very nice incentive for their clients to leave reviews. This is also why there are so many reviews for their clinic. Regardless, my review is 100% honest.

I have always had a great experience with Northgate Smiles. The receptionists, the hygienists, and the dentists are all very welcoming and willing to take time to explain things to you. The receptionists have on multiple times walked me through my bill line by line. On one occasion they went through a great deal of effort and even called my previous dentist to find out about a previous filling that was making my current bill high. In collaboration with the dentist they were able to make some changes that saved me some money (fantastic!). The hygienist took the time to explain to me exactly what she was doing and gave me great pointers on how to care for my teeth better. Dr. Aylen explained to me at what point cavities were reversible to help me understand why my fillings were necessary. I really appreciate when my providers are willing to put in the time to actually explain things to me and I feel the entire staff at Northgate Smiles does so and does so consistently.

They are very easy to schedule appointments with and utilize multiple ways of reminding you of your appointment. I was even given a Starbucks gift card for being accommodating and coming in early for my appointment. Some other 'amenities' that I appreciate is the keurig machine in the lobby for those waiting and the best part is the cable television. There is one in front of each chair that has cable television where they give you the remote and headphones so that you may watch it during your procedure.

The only negative feedback I have is that it appears that the dentists bounce around from patient to patient. I have had to wait in the dentist's chair in the middle of my appointment for the dentist to return on several occasions. Regardless, because of the excellent customer service I have received otherwise, I will be returning to Northgate Smiles and recommend that others do as well.

Dr. Karla Aylen and the staff and Northgate are great! They provide service with a smile. I've been coming here for a few years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have also referred coworkers and they were pleased with the service.

I get anxiety about anything dental. This office has really helped me to over come that No matter the situation, they don't judge you. They have been great about explaining options and answering any questions about procedures and billing. I love this office so much that my young daughter is now a patient. They are gentle and precise and couldn't ask for a better dental office.

I was thoroughly informed of the procedures step by step before they occurred with my approval. I was also given various payment plans. The next treatment dates where at my convenience. One of the most rewarding experiences of my life was having some dental work done at Northgate Smiles in Northgate, Washington. I know what you’re thinking; rewarding experience and dental work is an oxymoron (the two don’t go together). But it’s true. I’ve had plenty of dental work in my 64 plus years on this earth so I know from whence I speak. I’ve even had the experience where the Dentist put his knee in my chest to extract a wisdom tooth (the tooth was wise but he wasn’t). But getting back to Northgate Smiles, from the time you walk into its waiting room there is an atmosphere of calm. The décor is not only tasteful but also reassuring. The professionalism and friendly approach of the reception staff when they greet you further adds to a comfort feeling that everything is going to be alright. Dr. Karla Aylen and her support staff made the whole process of injecting nova cane, the drilling the scraping seamless and pleasant. Did I say getting needles, drilling and scraping where pleasant? Yes I did because it was. In fact, we joked (well I mostly joked) and laughed a lot during the entire process and on both visits. They must have thought me weird to be joking like that but they made me feel so safe and comfortable. Most dentists want to get you in and out “NEXT”. But Dr. Karla and her staff made it seem as if I was the only patient for that day. She when over and over each procedure many times until she deemed it perfect. This next statement might seem politically incorrect but I will say it any way. I LIKED, NO LOVED THE FACT THAT THE ENTIRE STAFF WHERE WOMEN- HURRAH FOR THEM.

Very welcoming and made me feel comfortable for my first visit. :) Also friendly staff and good location.

PROS: located next to Northgate Mall, plenty of parking, friendly and knowledgeable staff both about dental care and insurance.
CONS: Seems to be on the higher end as far as costs for services.

I have been using this dentist for about a month and I have been very happy with their service. They take all necessary steps to make your comfortable while receiving dental work. I've had cavities filled and my root canal plus the deep cleanings. Dr. Aluas worked on an extensive root canal I had about two weeks ago. These professionals have thought of everything. I watched cable with a blanket over my legs as they worked, and actually recieved a follow up call a day or two after the procedure.
I had a great experience here they are very professional and did a great job!

I have been coming here for 2 years. The staff is very friendly and make you feel comfortable. They do very good work, I've had cavities filled and my wisdom teeth pulled plus the usual cleanings. They have TV's in the rooms so you have something else to focus on.

This is the best dentist office I've ever been to. Everyone here is so great. They have a tv in every room so you can watch tv while you get your teeth worked on.

The best dental experience I've had. First off, everyone in the office is very nice and helpful, which goes a long way. As far as the actual dentistry, they explain everything in depth, make sure you're comfortable at every step of the way, and they even hide the needle until the last second. They really try to make it as comfortable an experience as possible. Thanks, guys!

I have always hated going to the dentist and have had a few bad experiences that prevented me from going for a long time. The staff and doctors at Northgate Smiles made me feel welcomed and at ease. At other offices, I have often felt tricked into doing procedures that were not essential or I was made to feel embarrassed – but that was not the case at Northgate Smiles! I highly recommend going to them!
