This was my third opinion and I flew out of state to have Dr. Danilyants perform my Surgery. I originally came across this doctor's specialty because I originally wanted the large fibroid removed. She was able to remove it with something called 'LAAM'. In the state I reside, I had minimal options. Robotic hysterectomy with 5-6 incisions or open hysterectomy surgery were the options. I'll add, fibroid 'ONLY' removal was not an option. I had awful bleeding and as a last resort, decided to just have a hysterectomy 'DUALPORT' instead with Dr. Danilyants. Although I was still contemplating whether to have just the fibroid removed or a hysterectomy, I decided at the last minute to go ahead with the hysterectomy (bleeding heavy). During the procedure, she also found endometriosis (removed) along with the enlarged uterus, and fibroid. I had a 5 day recovery. I know its hard to believe, but I had no pain after the surgery. I did experience anemia. I didn't lose much blood during surgery, but I was menstruating badly beforehand. My travel planning to Maryland and back was a success. I cannot believe how I got through everything with ease. I have no other choice but to recommend this doctor. I was researching doctors, and I thought I would help someone out there doing the same. She is a wonderful and friendly doctor. The trip made it harder, but the recovery was outstanding and worth it.
