I was referred to Dr. Segretti after being diagnosed with cervical cancer (adenocarcinomo) in 2006. Since then she has been a God-send! After having a radical hysterectomy Dr. Segretti oversaw my preventative radiation/chemo treatments. She definately gives a human touch to the medical field. Before surgery she answered every question I had completely, using terms *I* could understand! I never felt rushed while meeting with her or as if I was asking a "common sense" question. After surgery I found out that having an after hours problem didn't mean speaking with the doctor on-call, but rather Dr. Segretti would return my call. That is just another example of how she seperates herself from other doctors I've dealt with.
She takes her patients concerns seriously. After dealing with a doctor who made me feel like I was overreacting to my situation--Dr. Segretti offered a gentle, understanding approach. Now, almost a year post-surgery, I know that when I call her office I won't have to wait days on end for a response, typically the call is returned that same day.
Recently I experienced some problems while Dr. Segretti was out of town. While the treating doctors were very nice, I knew that I wouldn't trust anything I was told until Dr. Segretti had a chance to review it all. And true to who she is, she gave me far more answers, suggestions, and long-term possibilities than all the other doctors put together! She explained things in a way that I understood exactly what happened, why, and how to deal with it in the future.
Dealing with cancer isn't easy. Having Dr. Segretti overseeing everything gave me peace of mind during a very difficult time.
