I had the pleasure of being one of Dr. Hick's patients 5 years ago, though it was a tough time, he made it better. His bedside manner and patient relations are the best. He made me feel at ease thru the whole ordeal and I have to say only good things. Like it's said here he jokes when he feels the need to lighten the mood but that can do so much as a patient, but when the mood becomes more serious he's good at delivering those message in a manner which too makes you feel good as his patient. I couldn't recommend him enough to my friends or family when and if the need arises.

I met Dr. Hicks in 1996 when my OB/GYN & my children's Pediatrician suggested he come on to my complicated case. I had already had about 3 major surgeries and my OB/GYN had just came on my case himself, but I was still having major issues. It took me over a year to let them go back in one more time. Since I had so many reservations about what I needed to happen, Dr. Hicks was the first doctor to explain and outline my issues and how we were going to resolve it with the surgery and after care together. He has been my OB/GYN speciality physician every since.
I've always been able to reach him by phone. During my stay at the hospital, he came to check on me everyday. He has always taken time to explain any changes that we are going to do with each medication. If he does not know something, he will be the first to tell you that is NOT his speciality, but he will try to find the answer to any question you may have.
He takes his time with each patient. He has NEVER turned you away because you are past your 15 grace. If you are on his book for that day, he will see you. The wait can be long at times....for emergency surgery, but I will wait on him any day of the week or year. His bedside manners are something for other doctors to desire. He has a sense of humor and when he needs to be serious, their is no jokes. He tell it like it is with compassion.
He has a GREAT Nurse Practioner that works by his side. The Medical Assistant's are alway's busy and polite with each patient. I've seen it get crazy and they are just like the energizer....they keep going on and on with a big SMILE. The front office will help you and go out of the way to make your appointment a wonderful experience.
It is NOT about what type of INSURANCE YOU HAVE, it's about YOUR HEALTH and GETING YOU WELL, Keeping you HEALTHY! He does things for his patients that most doctor's would NEVER DREAM of doing, he listen's to each patient. The one thing that has stuck with me all these years, Dr. Hicks told me that if you CAN NOT reach a doctor, you will find one you can!

THIS DOCTOR IS UNIQUE. HE IS VERY SENSITIVE TO YOU. HE MAKES YOU FEEL COMPLETELY AT EASE AND WILL BE VERY UP FRONT WITH YOU. HE SEEMS TO TO KNOW HIS STUFF AND YOU GET A FEELING YOU CAN TRUST HIM. HE WILL GIVE YOU THE BEST TREATMENT AVAILABLE AND HE AND HIS STAFF STAY RIGHT ON TOP OF THINGS. GREAT WOMAN CANCER DOCTOR.

I met Dr. Hicks 5 years ago when I discovered I had a ovarian tumor. He is the BEST! - He is smart, sensitve to your issues, helpful and is great with his patients. I was so afraid when I came in to see him- but he explained everything to me and gave me his true medical opinion. He is a joy and brings humor and laughter to your every office visit. I see him once a year as a precautionary measure- and even though I had the testing that I go through - I love to see him and his NP, Chris. He is one of the BEST doctors in the state of Michigan.

Dr. Hicks is a one of a kind Dr. especially for his field. He was my Gynocologic Oncologist. I've never met a Dr. before that had the bedside manners he did, he was very good at explaining some very complex problems in terms my hubby and I could understand. He was able to draw pictures and review details and options available. He encouraged questions with a positive friendly attitude that made both of us feel comfortable. He also performed a radical hysterectomy without issue! In my 5 days in the hospital he came back and checked on me frequently and made sure I was well taken care of! I definately don't want cancer again, but I'd love to see this kind of Dr. again!
