Dr. Sykes is an absolutely wonderful doctor. She is more than personable, she got to know me as a patient and made me feel comfortable and welcome every time I saw her. She is also great with gentle prodding to get my health going in the right direction and is not one to pull punches when she found out I was not eating as healthy as I should be, and her directness is very refreshing. She is compassionate, caring, and a great diagnostician. She favors patient eduction over a quick flick of the pen on a prescription pad. I wish I could still go to her but I no longer live in the area.

Unlike many doctors nowadays, Dr. Sykes takes the time to sit down with you face to face and talk to you about any and all health issues or concerns for as long as it takes for you to feel satisfied as a patient. There were never any impatient moments where I thought "she really wants to end this conversation and move on to another patient".

I can't say enough about what a wonderful doctor and human being this woman is. She cares and she cares A LOT.

Dr Sykes is a great doctor! I have to agree with the reasons given already here.

I'll add that I can usually get in quickly, and her diagnosis is right on.

The same is true for her partner Judith Paley.

They are caring, personable, and have fabulous bedside manners. It's also nice to know that they relate to what you're going through (as women) or that they've treated it often enough to honestly tell you what to expect.

I hope I never have to find another physician! Couldn't be happier than to have these two great women take care of my health!

Dr. Sykes has been my primary care doctor since the mid 1980s. She is a fantastic doctor. She is intelligent and well-informed. She is an excellent diagnostician, which is exactly what you want in your primary care doctor. And she is honest and straightforward with you. She will spend as much time with you as you need. She is cheerful, comforting, friendly, trustworthy, experienced, and diligent. She has sent me to specialists when necessary and kept me from going to see specialists other times. I highly recommend (and have done so) her to anyone looking for an internist.

I was a patient of Dr. Sykes until I had to relocate for a job. She is a great doctor, very knowledgeable, very honest with her patients. If the treatment will be worse than the problem, she will tell you! She spends more time with you during an appointment than most MDs. Her practice is called Capitol Hill Internal Medicine. A friend of mine still sees her partner in this practice and highly recommends the partner as well (sorry, I don't know the partner's name).
