Dr. Leavitt, my gynocologist, performed a hysterectomy on me in February 2007. I found her to be not only extremely competent, but willing to listen to my needs and fears. In some previous medical situations, I had severe complications due to drug reactions. Because Dr. Leavitt listened to my history and took my fears seriously, I had no complications with this major surgery and my recovery has been uneventful.
Dr. Leavitt comes across first as a bit serious. However, she responds to humor quickly. She pays close attention to details of your medical history and is open to discussing options of treatment, even if she thinks they may fall into the "alternative medicine" category.
