I have received top class prefessional assistance and surgeries from Dr. Bruce Kahn. He works out of Both the La Jolla Scripps Memorial and his office is located at the Scripps Clinic, which recently moved from La Jolla to Sorento Valley... not far from where it used to reside in La Jolla. He also has hospital privelages at Green Hospital in La Jolla.
I would like to recommend him to all. Not only did he perform my hysterectomy, but he then also did an anterior/posterior vaginal wall strengthening and bladder sling about three years later. I am a sensitive person to whom is going to be giving me a serious surgery, and I have complete and utter confidence in the work that he performed. He is the pioneer in many things... one of them being the non-invasive surgeries that I had.
I would like to say that, although I believe in his abilites, it took a LOT of trust at first, being that he doesn't exactly have the best bedside manner. He is a man of pride in what he does and I think that he forgets that we need some reassurance in explanation of what is going to be going on. Being a Lt. Commander in the Navy, I think he forgot we're just plain scared. Although, right before my last surgery, he looked at me with a soft smile and patted my leg and told me everything would go just fine. I guess he could tell that I was scared!
Overall, if you are looking for a surgeon who has MAJOR experience and success... Dr. Bruce Kahn is your man. I'm fortunate to LIVE in La Jolla, but I would travel MANY MILES to have him work on me again if needed in the future.
