There's been one central theme to my encounters with "Dr. Dina"...she held my hand. I have been her patient for 7 years, and during that time, she's held my hand through a lot. I had a suprise pregnancy at the age of 42- she held my hand through my panic attack and tears- reassuring me that all would be fine. When I came in to the hospital with my daughter in distress after her umbilical cord fell out, Dr. Dina, who had been so sweet and kind, turned into a whirlwind- quietly but efficiently ordering people around, preparing me and the surgical team for an emergency c-section- all the while holding my hand. I disctinctly remember her looking into my eyes and saying "this is going to get scary for awhile, but everything will be OK- and even though there isn't much time for explanations right now- we'll sit down when this is over and I'll answer all your questions". I couldn't believe how calm she was, and she was true to her word- explained every minute of the whole thing. Of course, my beautiful daughter is fine. A few years later, she held my hand when I came in for a lump in my breast- and held my hand again after I found out it was malignant. Not long after that, I had a lump on my ovary- and she held my hand when we talked about the possibility of ovarian cancer (which it wasn't, thankfully). She has a busy practice, but I've never felt like she won't answer my questions- I may wait awhile, but once she enters the room, I would never know that other patients are waiting. She's straightforward, knowledgeable and honest- and she really cares about my needs. I've seen her in an emergency, and she's as calm as they come. I cannot recommend her enough.
