I've been seeing Dr. Kiley since March 2000. I saw him work as an OB while working as a birth doula for Community Hospital. His amazing, quiet and caring bedside manner was what drew me to him when we started trying for our second child. I had surgery for a large ovarian cyst (which he diagnosed at my first visit with him) and we tried for a year before finally conceiving. We have had 4 pregnancies and 3 live births with Dr. Kiley. He made every delivery special and took time with us. At our last delivery (Feb 2006) he encouraged my husband to catch our 4th baby. He helped get him gowned, he encouraged everyone to get good spots, he asked my 11 year old daughter if she wanted to help hold mommy's leg (which she did), he helped my husband catch the baby and he gave our 2 daughters that were present (one 2 year old son was in the waiting room) a lesson on the placenta and the amniotic sac and how it works and how the baby rests in there during the pregnancy. It didn't phase him at ALL that we had so many in our room during delivery. A friend was videotaping and helping my 4 year old daughter who wanted to watch as well, my mom took pictures, my mother-in-law helped hold a leg with my 11 year old daughter and my husband was there. He was amazing and nothing phased him. He's always taken time after our babies were born to hold them and look them over - pointing out all their best features... He said he had to "get in my baby time". You felt like you were the most special of all his patients!!
During office visits, we never felt rushed with him. You truly feel and believe that you are his top priority and you KNOW that he cares deeply for you as a patient. His work and his patients are his passion. It shows through in every delivery I've seen him attend, including my own. We had several issues during our last 3 pregnancies (placenta previa for 2, subchorionic separations for 2, etc.) and through each one, he treated you from the mind of a professional but with the heart of a friend. While he is not going to continue delivering babies after June 1, 2008, he will be continuing his gynecological practice and I always highly recommend him to anyone I know looking for a Dr. His staff is knowledgeable and kind and they speak SO highly of him. Having worked in the medical profession myself for years, I know how easy it is for office staff to speak out when the physician they work for isn't the same one person you see during the office visit. Personalities can vary with how the Dr treats the patients vs. the staff. Not so with Dr. Kiley. You know you've found a gem when even THEY rave about him!!
I will never go to another Dr. as long as Dr. Kiley is in practice. He is amazing, knowledgeable, skilled, talented and my husband LOVES him. He is a very special Dr and I'm so glad that I've had him as my Dr. for all these years!
