Dr Schwartz is Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (they are like MDs with extra training in the "whole person") with a specialty in Obstetrics-Gynecology. I switched to Dr Schwartz after I had a male doctor whom I felt did not understand me or my problems. I reccommend this Dr to any woman who is having difficulties identifying with their Dr.
In addition to yearly exams, Dr Schwartz has performed a tubal ligation and most recently a TVH, both successful.
Dr Schwartz is one of the most caring health professionals I have experienced. Dr Schwartz listens when you speak. Thoughtful consideration is given to your condition, she offers feasible alternatives, discusses procedures at length answering every question that I have had and possible side effects without prejudice or pressure or making me feel like I was wasting her time.
The pre-op office visit was thorough: her office staff and Dr Schwartz explained all the happenings of surgery day and what to expect from the anesthesia to post-op. It was comforting when she told me that she would come out right before it was my turn to go into surgery. After surgery she went out and spoke to my family which they greatly appreciated.
The day after surgery, Dr Schwartz came to my hospital room, discussed my surgery and eased my fears. She listened to my concerns about medication, offered some alternatives. I had to stay an extra night due to slight complications with nausea, and once again she was in my room early in the am.
I was released on the 3rd day after surgery, and the day after that she called my home to check up on me before the weekend.
Highly experienced, compassionate, friendly, and easy to communicate: Dr Schwartz is one of the best in her field.
