In August of 2013 I had entered Dr. Lyons office very scared due to my medical condition of several very larger tumors inside my uterus that so many doctors could not remove due to the size and location. I now know that GOD had let me to Dr.Lyons for a reason, I would like to mention from the time I stepped foot into his office I knew I was in the right hands. It has been 2 years since my surgery and I would highly recommend anyone to Dr.Lyons. Thanks for all your bed side manner and explanations to my surgery. I know u saved my life when everyone else gave up. I would like to tell you thanks for all you do.Keep up all your good works.

Lynn- a mother of two in Alabama

I was diagnosed with large, multiple uterine fibroids in 2002. They caused abnormal bleeding for a while. I had my first myomectomy in 2002 to try to get pregnant and turned around and had another myomectomy in 2003. This decision was influenced by my gynecologist. The fibroids continued to grow and uterus became very enlarged. I waited because I was afraid and did not want to have a hysterectomy. My doctor told me that I do not qualify for laparoscopic surgery to remove it.

The bleeding became excessive and my cycle was three weeks out of month and I am a teacher. I was miserable and it was affecting me on the job. I sat in my classroom one day and cried and said I must find a doctor to relieve me of this pain and misery. I found Dr. Lyons on the internet. I needed a second opinion. He spent a lot of time discussing my condition and options and did not push me at all in making a decision. I finally decided to have an LSH in June 2011, once school was out. It is 3 weeks today and I feel great. I was able to do laparoscopic and am recovering well. I am getting around, no pain. I will recommend anyone with major discomfort and not hearing what they feel is best to them to Dr. Lyons. Thank you Dr. Lyons for giving me my life back.

I was diagnosed with IV endometriosis by my GYNO in Oct 2009. I was told prior to surgery that I should go harvest my eggs. My GYNO said the endo was so severe that I would loose both tubes, and possible both ovaries. I was also told that the surgery could not be preformed laparoscopically due to the severity of it. He said we would need to do IVF in order to get pregnant.

I decided to seek a second opinion, and found Dr Lyons online. I emailed him one evening, and had a response the next day. A few weeks later we drove to Atl. to meet with Dr Lyons, and his wonderful staff! Dr. Lyons assured me that the cysts, and endo could be removed laparoscopically, he also assured me that I would not loose me ovaries. I had surgery Feb 2010, and was pregnant in April of 2010!

I was diagnosed with large, multiple uterine fibroids in 2007. They caused abnormal bleeding for awhile, but the worst problem was bladder pressure and stress incontinence. Because my bleeding was not as bad as other women's, I was really torn in my decision and put off having a hysterectomy for several years. The fibroids continued to grow and uterus became very enlarged, to the point that I could not find a doctor in my area who was willing to do laparoscopic surgery to remove it.

I found Dr. Lyons on the internet. He spent a lot of time discussing my condition and options and did not push me at all in making a decision. I finally decided to have an LSH in Nov. I have recovered well and all of my bladder symptoms have been resolved with this surgery.

When I was 16 I was told I had some abnormalities with my female organs and that was a rather overwhelming realization to grasp at that age. Doctor after doctor failed to give me answers or solutions and I became increasingly discouraged. I usually left the doctors appointments in pain and emotionally scarred.
Around my 21st birthday my mom informed me that she had found Dr. Lyons' website and it sounded promising. The first meeting with him was a brand new experience. He provided straightforward information about my condition and the process used to correct it. He gave me the insight I had been hoping for. He informed me that I had a condition called MRKH syndrome and that he could use minimally invasive surgery to correct it. This was a relief because the only other surgery I had heard about was incredibly gruesome and painful and not mention it was guaranteed to work.
I just had the surgery a little over a week ago and I am feeling fantastic. He was able to correct my condition and gave me a sense of normalcy in my life. Right before they gave me the anesthesia Dr. Lyons walked over and stood beside me. He gently put his hand on mine to let me know that everything was going to be alright. The results of the surgery are remarkable.
Not only is Dr. Lyons a brilliant surgeon but he is a wonderful person. He has a great sense of humor and gentle spirit. I would recommend him to anyone. I am forever in his debt for restoring me physically as well as emotionally. He is the most amazing doctor I have ever met.

I have had endometriosis for the last five years. I had two previous surgeries in my hometown of which both turned out to be unsuccessful. I continued to hurt and going out of State was the last thing I wanted to consider. I live in Alabama and since Dr. Lyons was in Georgia that was a big decison for me to make. I am so very thankful and blessed that I made the right decision and allowed Dr. Lyons to perform my surgery.
I found Dr. Lyons on the internet and it has been several weeks since my surgery and I am pain free. All of his office staff treated me with kindness and Northside Hospital was like a 5-Star Hotel. I spent one night in the hospital and stayed at the Holiday Inn on Hammond Dr. just minutes away from the hospital. Since I was out of State they gave me a great medical rate. The hotel made me feel like I was at home. Dr. Lyons has a great personality and will give you as much time as you need to talk. I felt better when I woke up from surgery. Dr. Lyons removed my appendix, uterus, and a very large cyst. Dr. Lyons is very OUTSTANDING IN HIS FIELD.

Dr. Lyons is very thorough and very professional, but he also has a great sense of humor. Great surgeon! I had a total laproscopic hysterectomy in May 2009 by Dr. Lyons and in 6 weeks I was back to the things I love to do, even some things I couln't do before my surgery.
All of his staff are nice and professional as well.
Thank you for helping me!!

Dr. Lyons is the best doctor I have ever seen. After seeing eight other specialist I was getting ready to just give up. I tried onemore time to get the medical care I needed. Dr. Lyons took time to listen to what I was saying, took me seriously.
We decided to go in for exploratory surgery, low and behold I had tumors on the inside and outside of my overies. Dr. Lyons was very honest, caring, and very open.
The second surgery I backed out at the last minute all ready to go in with my gown on. The nurse asked if I could stay long enough for the Doctor to talk with me. I did stay as Dr. Lyons walked into the room he sat beside me on the bed and told me that it was important that I have this surgery, the tumors would become cancer at anytime and he was concerned that if I walked out I wouldn't be back.
I did call that same week, the next week I was in surgery at 25 scared.
My point is, Dr. Lyons doesn't treat people like other Doctors, rather he treats eveyone with hope, care, and mostly like a human with a big heart.
I am now 36 living life, loving my son I adopted, and having a memory of one man that touched my life when all the other Doctors told me nothing was wrong. Thank you Dr. Lyons you are not like anyother Doctor you are a man with a big heart.

Wonderful, caring doctor who has a sense of humor along with the technical skills to develop and perform state of the art surgery. Six years ago, I had the outpatient laparoscopic hysterectomy he developed. Back at the gym (on the treadmill and elliptical) a week later. Highly recommended

I initially treated with my primary care physician - not Dr. Lyons! I was told my problem was aging, and that I should exercise my sphincter muscles 10 times daily!!! Several months later, I went to my regular ob/gyn, who basicaly misdiagnosed the problem and sent me to the urologist's office, who I overheard in the hallway say, "This is the third misdiagnosed patient in six months they have sent to me." Six months later, after having had Dr. Lyons recommended to me, he diagnosed the "real" problem and a few weeks later, a laproscopic/hysterectomy was performed. The care I received from Dr. Lyons and his entire staff was comforting and genuine. I was back at work in 2.5 weeks and I'm an older person. He DOES walk on water!!!

Dr. Lyons and his staff are exceptional. I traveled to Atlanta twice to have him perform my surgical procedures. He thoroughly outlined all of the options that were specific to my particular case. He and his staff administered such excellent medical care that I now return annually for my routine well-care visit. They were also very respectful and caring.

He is AWESOME. I am so glad I found him. I traveled to Atlanta to have my laparoscopic surgery by him. He is so caring and really listens to what his female patients are saying. I wish all of my previous surgeries had been done by him, because my recovery was about as long as it took for me to come out of the anesthesia!!

I contacted Dr. Lyons via e mail on New year's eve. He called me the next day and spoke to my husband and I for about 2 hours total. He was very understanding and explained things in great detail. I drove to his office in Atlanta and had my laparoscopic surgery for ovary, remnant, cysts and appendix removed. I went home the next day and have not been in any pain at all. I think more women should understand the type of surgery he offers because it means not getting cut open. he also uses a fluid he puts in the abdominal cavity to help prevent scar tissue formation. He and his team were awesome and everyone at the hospital bragged about his work and his work ethics. He educates other docs on the art of this surgery. I would recommend him to everyone.

Incredible surgeon! I researched for weeks and decided to take a leap of faith and drive 4 hours to Atanta. I had a Laparascopic Supracervical Hysterectomy which Dr. Lyons pioneered. I spent only 7 hours at the outpatient facility. Two days later I am back home with only a bit of soreness. Excellent care. This is the ONLY way to have a hysterectomy. Well worth the extra travel. Dr Lyons is the best!

Dr. Lyons was one of the pioneers of the laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy procedure in the 1980s. He has performed over 1500 of these procedures and is very skilled. In addition, he spends a lot of time with his patients, and is available by phone and email when needed. He is a brilliant surgeon and scientist and a warm and caring human being. I feel lucky to have had him as my surgeon. I had a very successful procedure with no complications.
