I was sent to Dr. Reddoch after a surprise diagnosis of borderline ovarian cancer in October 2009. This was completely resolved by my prior surgery; however, the general recommendation in this situation is to do a subsequent total abdominal hysterectomy, oophorectomy of the remaining ovary, and an appendectomy. Initially, when I was referred, she gave me the whole spectrum of treatment options and let me make a decision on how I wanted to handle my brush with cancer. This made me feel that I had at least some control in a very tumultuous time. She was sensitive to my wish not to have two back-to-back surgeries and worked with me on monitoring until I was ready for round two. She explained alternative incisions to address my wish to avoid potential abdominal muscle damage that would impact my participation in sports. She and I delved together into the decision whether or not to keep my cervix and she was careful to explain both sides of the issue fully. She was fully cooperative with helping me avoid narcotic pain medication to the extent possible and entirely after leaving the hospital. She respected my wishes regarding HRT (I wanted it). All I heard at the hospital from the staff was good; primarily that this is the doctor that other doctors go to for this type of treatment. As a plus, she has a confident and relaxed sense of "sunniness" about her. She is really good to work with; collaborative, responsive to my questions, and respectful of my views. She has been excellent overall throughout the course of my treatment and I give her my highest recommendation. Only suggestion for improvement would be on-line bill pay and debit/credit card payment ability.
