I've been a patient of Dr. Usen for about 4 years now. I've seen him for general conditions and overall health, anxiety, depression, migraine headaches, and acupuncture. He is such a WONDEFUL doctor that my husband, son, sister and parents, and a friend are also his patients!
He is so down to earth and makes me feel completely comfortable around him. When you first meet him, he has a big smile and introduces himself as "Josh Usen." We always laugh during visits!
He's extremely knowledgeable, energetic, and upbeat. He also uses some non-traditional methods of treatment.
His diagnosis is always right on, and he always explains why. He always discusses treatment options with me and WE agree which is best.
He knows ALL of his patients, and remembers everything. I've been in for a visit and he's said to me, "with your mom's history, let's check this."
His staff is wonderful as well. I NEVER have a visit in which I feel uncomfortable, or don't laugh.
He calls personally with results and is always willing to pick up the phone.
I highly recommend him and his staff!

He has always taken great care of my family and his diagnoses have been right on. He is easy to talk to and has always put my daughter at ease, despite her hang-ups about doctors. In fact he is great with kids and far better than her old pediatrician ever was. Having kids of his own, I?always appreciate that I?can say to him “If it was your kid, what would yo do?”

Rarely (if ever) have we waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room.

If you call on the phone, usually, he is the one to return your call, not the nurse or receptionist.

In an urgent situation, appointments are usually available within 24 hours, but for scheduled physicals it can take up to 2-3 weeks.

I appreciate the idea that he is open to alternative medicines. He is not afraid to make the referral if he feels you would be better cared for elsewhere.

Dr. Usen has been my primary for over 4 years, treating me most recently for my hypothyrodism. His personality is unlike the 'usual' dr in that he doesn't act like one yet his knowledge is great. When he suggests something he tells you the why around it, yet gives options.
He's a stickler for updated testing and doesn't let anyone slide knowing your health is first and formost. When results come in HE calls, not a nurse or other staff. He has moved twice, each time further from me and yet I still follow because of all of the above and highly recommend him.
