Dr. Livingston was my third doctor consultation but the first Doctor NOT to say, "That’s just how your shaped; there is nothing I can do about that." I have included the four reasons I choose Dr. Christopher Livingston.
1. Aesthetic Results:
I wasn't a difficult case; however, like most women, I was slightly asymmetrical. Dr. Livingston did a minor incision about one areola to create symmetry (my areola's were only 1/2 a centimeter off but would have been more noticeable with implants). He also correct the cleavage on one side (one breast was more round and the was more slanted). Every doctor said there was nothing they could do about that, it was just the way I was shaped. Dr. Livingston didn't see me as just another boob job, he took the time to correct my cleavage and make both sides round. He wanted me to have the best possible results so he took the time to do the minor corrections which gave me the most amazing results.
2. Nerve Sensation:
Dr. Livingston does NOT cut through the nerve leading to the areola, so I had no chance of losing sensitivity. Most doctors say it's a 50/50 chance. That was not good enough for me. Dr. Livingston took the time to move the nerve out of the way and then he cut under the muscle and inserted the implant. Once that nerve is cut, it may or it may not grow back together. I was not willing to take that chance. Sensitivity in my breasts was very important to me. I was amazed to learn most doctors don't care enough to take the time to move the nerve over. Dr. Livingston did and because of him, I never lost sensitivity.
3. Placement and Size:
Dr. Livingston did not cut above my natural breast line so my breasts look completely natural and never looked like they were “in my throat”. He also knew I wanted to be full but not huge since I like to play sports and my family is very conservative. I gave him pictures of what I wanted my results to look like. I found before and after pictures close to my original size and shape, and what I wanted to look like post-op. He ordered various sized silicone implants for my surgery. He then used a spacer implant to determine the best size. The spacer implant was inserted during surgery to determine the perfect size prior to inserting the silicone implant. The spacer implant was filled with saline, then they sat me upright to judge the size. This was done at various CCs (275, 300, 325, 350, 375, 400) until I had the perfect size based on the pictures I gave him. I thought I would want a 325 implant, he ended up using a 375 gel implant and I am absolutely thrilled with my results. Again, I was shocked to learn most doctors just put in the size you agree on and they are on their way. They do not spend the time inserting a spacer implant to gage the exact size you should be for your ideal results.
4. Caring:
Dr. Livingston really cared about making sure I knew everything up front about my surgery, making sure I didn't have any questions, he ... [more..]
