I highly recommend Dr. Defabo. When I had my 2nd child in 2003, I was bleeding extensively and I believe his quick action saved my life. He was completely calm throughout the ordeal and I had no idea of the seriousness of my condition until after I recovered. He is always kind, considerate and seems to be genuinely interested in my condition.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. D. I highly recommend him. He is a wonderful Dr. I have no complaints. I have had some serious problems and Dr. D has always showed concern and given me the right care needed. He showed me compassion for my miscarrages and gave me hope. I had to switch Dr. for insurance reasons when I was pregnant (high risk) with my daughter, Dr. D stayed on top of my condition, He fought for my life and he wasn't even getting paid for it. My mother had breast cancer this past year and he was concerned about her condition even though she was being treated by another Dr.. I was hospitalized a few months ago with bowel problems and Dr. D called me to encourage me and reassure me that everything will be ok. I can't say enough about him and the staff he carefully chose to take care of his patients. I travel 65 miles one way to go to his Latrobe office. It is worth it to know I am in the best hands. Thank You Dr.D.

When I had my 3rd bad pap test result with pre cancerous cells he suggested getting a hysterectomy for preventive measures. I agreed because I had already had my tubes tied and wasn't planning any more children. I scheduled the surgery and had to have a cone biopsy the day before surgery anyway. My insurance company said the biopsy came back with the bad cells removed within the area and that was "the cure" and didn't feel I needed the surgery. Dr. DeFabo disagreed and argued with my insurance company for 30 minutes untill they agreed.

When my final biopsy results came back it showed that there were pre cancerous cells up higher in my cervix that the cone biopsy couldn't have detected. If he wouldnt have fought to get me the surgery who knows what may have happened.

He is a true lifesaver and a wonderful doctor.
