Dr. Ventre performed a TAH/BSO on me in August of 2003 when I was 56 due to my having many large uterine fibroids. We talked about every treatment option available at that time before we decided that the hysterectomy was the best course.
Dr. Ventre is very knowledgable and was detailed in her responses to my many questions about my hyterectomy. She told me exactly what to expect and was a great encouragement to me during my hospital stay. She helped me get thru a very difficult time because of her compassionate, comforting, and caring attitude, all without "babying" me.
At this time Dr. Ventre was battling her own serious health problems and her "I can get thru this and so can you" attitude made her a role model for me. She also asked me to be strong so that I could be a model for her. This encouraged both of us to recover.
During my convalescence, her response time to my calls was very short, thus easing my anxiety. She took time to talk with me until all of my concerns were addressed.
She continues to be my OB/GYN for all of these reasons.
