Just like everyone else has said, he cares about his patients. He doesn't forget that the person on the exam table is a person; he makes things better. Pelvic pain can be such a scary thing to begin with - especially if it involves infertility/hysterectomy/etc. - but his style and interpersonal skills make things so much easier than they probably would have been otherwise.

Dr Childs is one of the most sincere and patient physicians I have ever met. He has taken such good care of me, given me options, taken a tremendous amount of time to talk to me, performed a couple of surgical procedures - the last being LAVH to help with recurrent pelvic pain, large ovarian cysts, and stage 4 endo.

He is a great man and wonderful physician. He cares for his patients - genuinely - something incredibly rare these days.

I am healing now from the last surgery and attribute my wellness to his talent and experience. I am so glad to have him as my physician.

I'm 34 yrs old and have been a patient of Dr Childs' for several years now. I had lived with severe pelvic pain for so long, I never thought anyone would be able to figure out what was wrong with me - let alone treat it and make it better! I had surgery over a year ago, and just like he does with all his patients, he prayed with me before the surgery. I never thought I'd say it, but I've been pain-free ever since! His strong Christian values are so evident in his practice, and have impressed me beyond words. He's so wonderful with his patients. God has truly given him a gift and I would recommend Dr Childs to everyone!! :)

I am an older patient of Dr. Childs. He is wonderful.
y problems are chronic and very challenging. He has been the one to help me by keeping up with current practices and trying options as they apppear. I cannot imagine handling this without the kindness and professionism of Dr. Childs.

I would highly recommend Dr. Childs for any woman struggling with prlvic pain. He is a very good christian man that is very attentive to his patients. I had struggled with pain for years and I finally went to him since my OB/GYN didnt seem to do anything. He sat me and my husband down and told us all the things that could possibly be wrong, scheduled surgery, and diagnosed me with several things my GYN didnt seem to see. He has a very good bedside manner, listens very well to what the patients have to say and to me thats alot. He prayed with me before surgery and I know he is always doing what is best for the patient... I would recomment him to anyone.

I decided to come to Birmingham because the doctors where I am from could not figure out what was going on and told me i had to deal with the pain. In two visits he knew exactly what was wrong with me and he scheduled me for surgery right then. He found things that the other doctors could not see and now I am not living in pain like my other doctors said I would be. Thanks to Dr. Childs i now want to help other woman who have the same thing i have and help them know that they do not have to live in pain.

My wife has struggled with pelivic pain for years, and Dr. Childs was able to diagnose the specific problem, give us various treatment options, and implemented the least invasive one...which has worked! He was very patient, knowledgable, and sensitive. His help has been a great blessing to us!!

I have recommended this wonderful doctor before, but it really needs to be said again: this a wonderful doctor that studied and learned at the side of Dr. C. Paul Perry, a pioneer in Pelvic Pain and treatment. Dr. Childs is a very caring and very attentive physician that truly has concern for his patients and does not hesitate for a moment to call you to see how you are doing and if there is anything he or the staff can do for you. Dr. Perry handpicked Dr. Childs for a reason, and the reason is clear: he is truly gifted and caring.

Dr. Alex Childs is a wonderful Dr. in practice with Dr. C. Paul Perry. He is a very caring christian man that really cares for the wellbeing of his patients. He and Dr. Perry solved my pelvic pain problems that I had suffered for 4 years. Dr. Childs prayed with me before surgery and that really impressed me. I knew I was in very good hands.

Part of the C. Paul Perry Pelvic Pain Center, Dr Childs has become one of the best (second only to Dr. Perry of course) in the treatment for chronic pelvic pain. I am indebted to he and Dr. Perry for making life just a little (a lot) better!
