I was referred to this gyn. by co-workers who went to him. I was very satisfied with services. He is straight to the point of what might be wrong, will try to take the least invasive acton to correct the problem.
I was having severe cramping, almost constant though light bleeding when I went to see Dr. Naughton. He knew from the ultrasound that I had fibroid tumors, and suggested a laprosopic surgery to look on the outside of the uterus and see how things were, as will as a cleaning out of the inside of the uterus. At my two week check-up, I was actually in more pain. He said, and showed me on the tape they made, that I had severe fibroids on the outer layer of my uterus, and on my overies. There were two options, one was to give me pills to mimic menopause, but there would be no relief from the menopause symptoms, or the treatment wouldn't be efficeint. Option two was to have a hysterectomy. I opted for the hysterectomy and had immediate relief from the pain. I recovered faster than even Dr. Naughton expected.
He offered before both procedures to let me see another dr. for a second opinion. I felt though that he was very experienced and trustworthy and that a second opinion would only waste time.
While he may seem 'gruff' to some, I found his straightforward manor refreshing over the lax attitude of other doctors. He is a no nonsense doctor, lets get this taken care of. If you want to sit and chit chat with your dr. he is not a dr. for you. He does though explain everything fully and will answer any question you have.
If you are in the Reno/Sparks area I highly recommend Dr. Naughton.
