I cannot ever say enough good things about Dr. Haskins. When I was pregnant with my first child, I went into pre-term labor on a Sunday night. My husband was out of town on a white-tail deer hunt, my parents were in Canada and all I had with my was my "never can depend on" sister. Dr. Haskins came to the hospital and checked me over and determined quickly that I was in labor. I was about 31 weeks pregnant at the time. The hospital did not have the means to stop my labor, so I was transferred to Hermann Hospital in Houston (125 miles away) by ambulance. Not only did Dr. Haskins ride in the ambulance with me to Houston since I didn't have any family, but he made the EMTs wait on him while he got me settled. He rode back to Nacogdoches in the ambulance, arriving home just in time to shower and go to work on Monday morning. He called my doctors in Houston everyday to check on me and when I was released after 2 weeks and returned home, he made sure that the medicine I had to take every 2 hours around the clock, Yutopar, was available in Lufkin/Nacogdoches. It was an extremely emotional time for me, and he showed me and my family not only what a wonderful doctor he was, but what an extraordinary human being he was. After the birth of my 3rd child, he delivered all 3, my mother passed away from cancer and Dr. Haskins called me on the phone to offer his sympathy. I have never had another doctor be so caring. The year after my mother passed away, after a routine check up, he diagnosed my uternine cancer. He made sure that my surgery went as smoothly as possible because any kind of pain medicine makes me extremely sick. HE IS THE BEST!
