I searched for and found Dr. Rothenberg after having heard from another OB/GYN that the laparoscopic method of hysterectomy that I desired was dangerous and not even performed by any of the doctors in Methodist Medical Group. After an exhaustive search for a skilled laparoscopic surgeon, which even included the possibility of out-of-town travel, I remembered that IU Hospital offers some of the most skillful, talented, and dedicated doctors that are in the practice of medicine today. Dr. Rothenberg fits that profile. He is very decent, caring, kind, patient, and always very cheerful. I often muse of how he is the happiest and most helpful person that I've ever seen! Above all, he is very knowledgeable of all procedures pertaining to obstetrics and gynecology, serving as a walking textbook of new information to assist his patients. He has proven to be one amazing surgeon, being among the very first to use the daVinci Robotic Assisted method in gynecologic surgeries. And yet, he is very quiet about his accomplishments (you have to do an online search for them!). He has an unusually high success rate, so I trusted him immediately after the first consultation when I inquired about using UFE or the endometrial ablation as an option to rid myself of those disgusting fibroids. So when I arrived for the second consultation where we discussed the LSH, I was immediately comfortable with my choice of him as my surgeon. Dr. Rothenberg has earned his post as Medical Director of the Coleman Center for Women, and stands head and shoulders above any physician who I have ever seen. If he says that he can help with your issue, believe it! You won't lose any rest wondering if he was the best choice that you could have made.
