Dr. Carisio-Farber helped me when I thought I couldn't find a Dr. to take my pains seriously. I believe she might have actually scoffed when I told her what sort of treatments I had had in the past. She was caring, didn't use medical jargon that was beyond my comprehension and has a great bedside manner. When she told me I needed a hysterectomy because I have growths inside my uterus and that they couldn't be removed vaginally, she took away any fear I might have concerning this operation because of her total confidence in herself. I like having a Dr. with self confidence. I makes me feel like I'm in good hands, and with Dr. Carisio, I wasn't wrong. Anytime I had a worry post op, there was always a nurse to speak with and that helped with most surgery anxiety (which I had because of the anesthesia, not because of the surgery itself). To top it all off, she is the only woman ob/gyn in town. Why any woman would go to a male ob/gyn is beyond me. How on earth could they ever know what it feels like to have menstrual cramps? Trust me on this, you won't regret seeing her as a patient.
