Suggestions & Reviews for Maggie YU MD

If you are looking for a wonderful Doctor look no more. I have been a patient for about 9 years. She doesn't just think in the box and looks at the whole picture. My favorite example to share is I had been dealing with some extreme pain. I had gone to my gynecologist and was told it was just pain from a lowered uterus and it sometimes just happens after having children. I went another year believing this. The pain was so severe I went to Dr. Yu and explained what was happening and boom she says, "It sounds like endrometriosis"! Had testing and sure enough. Had surgery and felt great.

She is also great with headaches!

Just one more thing... one of my best friends just had to change her insurance over to Kaiser. She deliberatley added on the outside Doctor plan so she can continue to see Dr. Yu.

Through many years of being around doctors, due to my grandma and mother's health, is how you become to appreciate Dr. Yu. You find a Doctor like her and you won't let her go. I can't tell you how upset I was when she left where she had been working and they wouldn't tell me where to find her. Luckily she was opening the practice she has today!

She's a smart, persistent, up front, and has a good bedside manner. I recommend her to everyone!

Dr. Maggie Yu is truly a gifted physician. She has been our family physician for years; seen us through a few major critical medical crises. It is her ability to really listen to what you are saying, then in her calm no nonsense way respond to your concern (not at you but to you) with a knowledge and expertise that our family has come to value and depend upon. We think she is great and whole heartedly recommend her.

Dr. Yu is everything she claims to be 100%. She attends to our whole family in a manner that is unparalled. Even though her practice is booming she still knows our names and takes the time to talk about the details. I have recommended her to my close friends and family and they all feel the same way. If you are frustrated with the corporate medical system, give her a try. I promise you won't be sorry.

Dr. Maggie Yu is an AMAZING doctor!! I was a patient of hers through Providence . I moved my care to her new practice when i found her again, and is now my daughters pediatrician as well. I drive 15 miles out of my way just to see her.

Maggie is a wonderful doctor. She is straight to the point, funny, caring, and has a wonderful approach. She gets an A++++ from us!

I would not trust my families health to anyone else other than Dr. Yu.

I have been a patient of Dr. Yu's for over 6 years. I followed her when she opened her own practice and even when I moved 30 minutes away. She is so friendly, personable and caring. She never rushes you and is willing to work try new things to get the best results for your individual needs. I can not say enough about her and continue to recommend her to all my friends and family. She is well worth it to drive out of your way to see her.

For years I felt I was suffering from fibromyalgia. I'd even point-blank asked my previous providers if this could be causing the problems I was having. For years it was blown off.

The very first time I saw Dr. Maggie Yu she gave me the official diagnosis... and more importantly started treating my fibro. The best thing about that first visit was that my husband & I picked her from the Providence web site without knowing fibromyalgia is one of her specialties! I'm not sure, but I think I cried on the way home from that fist visit from the sheer relief of finally finding someone who understands and can help.

I can't even imagine what my quality of life would be with my fibro if I hadn't found Dr. Yu. Very highly recommended for anyone; especially recommended for anyone who is suffering while not getting the results they need from other physicians. Dr. Yu is very persistent and won't stop until she finds answers - which means making you feel better!

I found Dr Yu after she had moved to her new office but I am so glad I did. She is caring while still being a straight shooter. Her staff are always very nice and I feel like they know me.

Having worked in the medical profession for numerous years, I have pretty much treated with the physician I work for. However I was feeling the need to establish care with a new physician whom I was not in such close contact with. Maggie was recommended to me by her patient's and what a "great choice" I made. I've only seen her once, but she made a wonderful impression on me. Both her staff and she were personable and I felt very welcomed! My daughter has now switched to her and I am working on my husband to make an appointment. Keep up the good work Maggie!

dr. maggie yu is a role model that other doctors should learn from. she was my doctor as well as my two adult daughters. i would never suggest a doctor for my daughters unless it was the very best, and that who dr. maggie yu is, the very best. i had an undiagnosed illness for several years and went to many so called doctors to hopefully get a diagnosis and they did not know what it was. after my first initial visit with dr. yu, explaining to her what the symptons i had been suffering with for so long, she came up with the name of the illness. we worked on a regume of certain pills and other things to ease the illness and after the first month or two, things were becomming controlable. she was my doctor for four years and i hope that i will have her for much longer. thankyou dr. yu

My husband and I have entrusted our lives to Dr. Yu! Of all the doctors in our many decades of life she is the only one that we really loved. She knows how to put her patients at ease, how to apply her medical knowledge in a professional and compassionate way and is a beautiful down to earth human being. To add to all of this she has a delicious sense of humor!! . We were a real challenge to Dr. Yu, she has treated us for a variety of "old folks" diseases. They include Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Gout , Bladder and Kidney,High Cholesterol, Diverticulitis and assorted infections. Believe it or not we can still walk, talk feed ourselves and play scrabble every afternoon! We hope to be under Dr Yu's care again This of course depends on our Secure Horizon/AARP Complete Insurance. WE LUV YOU YU!!

Dr. Yu has been our family physician for several years. She has provided annual physicals and treated specific complaints. I particualrly appreciate her thoroughness in asking questions to explore issues I had not thought about, and her willingness to take time to explain her recommendations.

She is extraordinary at establishing rapport and has a progressive recognition of the need to establish relationships with patients. We are anxious for her to open her new clinic in Sherwood and will be among the first patients through the door!

Dr. Yu will work to find solutions to even the difficult and elusive issues. She has helped me with problems that I still had after seeing other doctors. Women dealing with perimenopause? Check with Dr. Yu before searching further!! Depression? Get in to see her now. Have a teen with anxiety issues or you're wondering what's wrong with them? Check in with Dr. Yu. She listens and works toward a solution. I'm a solution-oriented person and that's why Dr. Yu is a good doctor for my family.

Dr. Yu is loyal, dedicated, honest, reliable, etc., etc.
She is very professional and interested in her patient's welfare and comfort.

She is able to "cut" right through exam, to know what is wrong and how to fix it.

She is the physician you have always hoped for, but didn't expect to find. I am so thankful to have found her, and I do not intend to let her go!

Dr. Yu is a dynamo! It is difficult to find a doctor who extends him/herself beyond strict medical decisions.

Go, Maggie!

Dr Yu has been as other have said; very attentive and cares about her paitents. My whole family has been under her care. She has helped my son with his asthma in a way no other speicialized asthma doctors have.

I was able to contact Dr. Yu and she is planning to open up her own practice in March. I hope to know more, but she encouraged me to encourage folks who want to find her to seek her out, she cannot contact you first.

Hope this helps all seeking out this wonderful doctor.

Dr Yu is a fabulous physician. I was very disappointed to hear that she left Sherwood Providence. I'm hoping through networks such as this, I will be able to locate her. Dr Yu listens to her patients. She is not only cheerful but also very respectful. She makes you feel very comfortable & confident in her abilities. Please let me know where she ends up practicing. Thanks!

I am thankful for this site, as I called to day to set an apointment for my daughter who has CFS and found out that Dr.Yu is no longer at Sherwood - So thank you to those who have posted information so I could find her, and her web site.

She is an excellent Dr, and after starting with Sherwood Family Practice four years ago, we had big problems with one of the Dr.s there. Than we found Dr. Yu and stayed with SFP because of her.

There is good news! Maggie is still around. All I can say right now it that she will be back next year but nothing more at this time.
Her new web site is under construction. The URL is: drmaggieyu with the normal prefix and suffix stripped off to make it through the spam filter. I could have guessed it and should have tried but there it is.
She cannot contact former patients as you can understand and can have patients contact her through the grape vine, all for legal reasons. Please don't speculate on why things are as they are. This is important to her.
Just know that she WILL be available next year so keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Dave

It is very said that Dr. Yu is no longer working where she was. I hope that I might be able to find her somehow and continue being her patient. After moving to a new home, I too drive out of my way just so I can continue to see her. I do hope that nothing bad has happened to her. She is the best doctor I've ever had.

I recently learned via my pharmacist that Maggie will be opening her own practice. Since this is third party information and I have no way to verify it, take it for what it's worth to you.
If this is true, Maggie would need to quickly ramp up her patient base. That would be her first challenge. She can't simply contact her existing patients as this violate any professional relationship she had with her former employer. She can however spread the word in a general way not specific to any patient list. I've been in a similar situation myself and was threatened with a law-suit if I attempted to contact customers of my previous employer directly.
There is that other thing called "location" that would also play into a successful business start-up. Again, not knowing the facts at this time makes all I've said here just speculation. I hope to learn more from some of my friends and contacts and I'll post it as I hear it.
Maggie if are reading this, we LOVE you!

I opened my mail on 12/8/07, read the first lines of a letter sent by the Sherwood Clinic and felt an icy grip around my heart. My beloved and trusted doctor was gone.

Dr. Yu and I have come a long way together. When she learned of problems I was having with another doctor at the clinic, she asked to have me assigned to her. Allow me to point out that the doctor I was unhappy with is still there. Also this doctor is the only doctor I have ever complained about.

Maggie believes in her patients and really fights for them, perhaps that is why she is no longer there. Quite frankly, I don't know how I will carry on. Without her, I think I'd be dead by now.

I have to stay with Providence for this next year so I can't follow her at this time. Perhaps that is why they (Sherwood Clinic) let her go now. All of us on Medicare only have until 12/31/07 to make a switch.

At the moment, no one knows where she is, but we are looking for her!

I know that this was sudden as there is no way she would have left her patients like this.

My guess is that she will lay low for the holidays and then decide who she will want to work for. Her chice as she is both exceptionally educated and skilled.

Please let me know when someone has found her!

Maggie is a huge part of my life as a patient and someone that was on "the edge". She brought me back.
Now she is no longer with Providence. This upsets me a lot. I hope she is OK as Providence will only say that she left for confidential reasons. I'm not sure I'll find another doctor like her.
If you know where she is please post it here.

Maggie Yu is a supervisor/training manager at Providence Medical Center in Sherwood, Oregon. This doctor is especially experienced in caring for women of all ages - exceptionally knowledgeable about mid-age women.

Maggie really listens to her patients and firmly believes that the human body is supposed to function without discomfort. She works with her patients and partners in their healthcare.
