I had gone to the same woman gynecologist for at least 20 years. I had had a major medical plan that paid 80 or 90% of the bill and then I became self employed and could afford an HMO and she was no longer in my network. I paid a full rate for my annual exams and then some problems arose and I knew that I was in for some extraordinary bills (mind you, I did pay out of pocket for three internal ultrasounds over the years).
I had heard marvelous things about Alison Petraske, MD in Princeton who was in a practice with Alan Friedman, MD. I could not get a check-up appointment w/ Dr. Petraske for many months, but was able to get an appointment w/ Dr. Friedman. And, soon after my initial appointment w/ Dr. Friedman, all hell broke loose, so to speak...two months later, while on a business trip, I had to have an emergency D&C, and when I returned home I saw Dr. Friedman and we scheduled a hysterectomy.
And, who was the other doctor in on the surgery - Dr. Petraske. I could not have been more pleased. The two doctors did a superb job and I cannot recommend either enough. Dr. Friedman is a caring physician who listens and even noted that Vitamin E cream on my incision really diminished a scar.
Dr. Friedman is great - I see him for my regular checkups (I still have my cervix). He is very personable and easy to talk with. The office staff is great, too. Appointments are punctual - and, there are often samples of calcium at the receptionist's window. And, Dr. Friedman always checks for samples of pharmaceuticals.
