I just love Dr. Lamade (lah-mah-dee). He's one of the most personable, compassionate doctors in his field and I don't know where I'd be without him. He saw me four years ago when I had no health insurance and has allowed me to make payments on those charges in increments I can handle (we're talking anywhere from $10 to $40 at a time and I'm still paying!).

Once I got health insurance, I continued to visit his practice. First, it was discovered that I had uterine fibroids. Big, problematic ones. Dr. Lamade recommended hysterectomy but I was in a relationship with the man I later married and he wanted children. He offered me two alternatives: myomectomy and embolization. I went with the embolization, using the radiology doctor that Dr. L recommended. It went without a hitch. Maybe it worked TOO well! I was pregnant three weeks later!

When I became pregnant, I saw midwives who worked at Dr. L's practice and they were terrific, too. Mine was a high-risk pregnancy so I got to know all of them very well! My son was born 3 weeks before his due date and had a little rough start (slow to breathe and pink-up); they were very reassuring while I worried about him and they (and the pediatric nurses) took excellent care of him. He's the picture of health and, dare I say? Brilliant! LOL

My fibroids came back with a vengeance, though, and I decided I wanted the hysterectomy I'd been previously offered. Dr. Lamade scheduled the surgery for the quickest date possible. He was wonderful about helping me control the pain the fibroids were causing me in the meantime. When the surgery day arrived, his smiling, friendly (almost PERKY!) demeanor put me at ease and I never had any second thoughts that I was doing the right thing.

Post-op, I was in an inordinate amount of pain. Massive amounts of morphine only fogged my head - my body still felt like it had been hit by a truck. I'm pleased to say that Dr. Lamade was kind and compassionate enough to change the medication order as soon as it was suggested and the difference was like night and day.

He was very attentive to my physical and emotional needs. He was able to explain what he found during the surgery to my husband, in a way that was easily understood; he also made my DH understand what I'd been going through before the surgery (symptom-wise) based on his findings.

You just won't find a nicer, sweeter guy to take care of you throughout any and all of your medical woes. I've seen some of the other doctors in the practice (Women's Health Care Associates) and I would also highly recommend Dr. Yartz, DO. Dr. Collins, MD, is nice, too. Still, Dr. Lamade is the crowning jewel of the group. I'm sure you'll love being his patient as much as I do!!!
