Dr Whelan, is a gentle patient and considerate man, he took the time to explain the treatments that I needed. He took time out of his busy work week to call me with results to my cancer results. I highly recommend the Dr Whelan to any woman who is seeking treatment.

Dr. Whelan is a wonderful doctor and surgeon. He is VERY informative about your situation and gives you many well explained choices for your specific problem. He is thorough, patient, and understanding, experienced, and takes all circumstances into consideration. I was very nervous when I first went to see him about a large cyst on or around my left ovary. After the exam he recommended laparoscopy with a possible oophorectomy. During the laparoscopy he found that I needed a hysterectomy. Rather than do the oophorectomy and also do the hysterectomy later, he withdrew from surgery and fully explained what he had found. He then gave me many alternatives to hysterectomy as well as what to expect with each choice. I very comforatble with our choice for hysterectomy and I am excited about my upcomming surgery and feel VERY secure with Dr. Whelan at the helm! I cannot think of anything that he could have done better in my experience with him. I highly recommend him to anyone who is nervous and confused over what they should do or as a wonderful second opinion.
