I was a patient of Dr. Ortiz's from December 2003 until her departure from the practice in June 2007. She was my lifesaver! Not once .. but twice!! I was originally diagnosed in 2003 with an extremely rare form of cancer .. leiomyosarcoma. My primary physician (who is a phenomenal physician himself) referred me to Dr. Ortiz .. and ONLY Dr. Ortiz for treatment. She confirmed my diagnosis and performed surgery to remove my cancer in 2003 as well as a recurrance in 2006 (my cancer is incurable). She works miracles! She is extremely skilled, highly professional & knowledgeable and last but certainly not least, she is caring, comforting, thoughtful and treats you as she would want to be treated herself if she were in your shoes. I was upset for days when I heard she was leaving Orlando. I trust her with my life and thought she would forever be my oncologist. There were hugs & tears at my last appointment. But even though she has relocated to another state, I know that she's just a phone call or a plane ride away. SHE IS THE BEST !!!!! Dr. Ortiz is truly an angel on earth !!!!

I've been pleased with Dr.Ortiz. I want to thank the previous poster for telling me where she it going.. I just got the letter yesterday.
I have to admit that I feel a loss. I really prefer a female doctor, and I hope that the hospital will find another competent female doctor in Dr.Ortiz's stead.

Dr. Ortiz has been my doctor throughout the past 8 months from the time I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer to now, and I can absolutely HIGHLY recommend her. She is a caring person, a fabulous doctor, and I trust her completely and would recommend her to anyone. You would be in good hands! I was really sad to find out last week that she is moving her practice to New York soon. Good news for those in NY though!

After many months of seeing my former gyn without relief of my symptoms or a diagnosis, my oncologist sent me to see Dr. Ortiz who immediately set out investigating my health problems and performing tests until we decided that a LAVH/BSO was the best decision for me considering my cancer history and symptoms and results of my tests. The LAVH/BSO was scheduled and done within 2 weeks of the decision to perform it. Dr. Ortiz made sure I understood the procedure, told me everything that would happen in explicit well understood terms. She was tender and honest and it was absolutely the easiest, least painful surgery. She made sure I was totally comfortable at all times. She encouraged my husband to be part of my decision and included him in my surgery decision and welcomed him as part of my health team. I am keeping her as my gyn/onc for the rest of my life.
Dr. Ortiz is Board Certified in Gynecology and Oncology and works out of one of the largest cancer centers in Orlando. Dr. Ortiz is young, cheerful, friendly, experienced, and shared her personal experiences with me during my treatment.
I would highly recommend Dr. Ortiz to anyone who is searching for a gyn/onc that would like quick, correct, diagnosis and treatment from a group of caring, dilligent physicians.
