Having discovered Dr Johnson in the ER after a very painful cyst burst, she has been my OB/GYN. This Jan '07, heavy clotting and bleeding brought me back to her, and after compassionate and logical discussions, we underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy (laproscopically assisted) and had both ovaries removed. Cancer suspected in the endometrial lining. She has been wonderful! Having been a teaching resident, a wife and mom, her style and upbeat attitude was a welcome relief during this scary time. I have found she goes above and beyond what we have come to expect fort eh medical profession, and would highly reccomend her to any woman! She has been a helpful guide in allowing me to make my own decisions after wieghing all options. A true gem!

Large fibroids caused very heavy bleeding most days of each month. Dr. Johnson, in a very compassionate and logical manner, informed me of my remaining options for several years, knowing that I did not want a hysterectomy. After all options, including less invasive surgery failed because of the location and size of one fibroid, my final options were to do nothing (not an option based on quality of life issues) or have a hysterectomy. Dr. Johnson worked with my very specific timetable and need to have as short of recovery time possible. This required monthly injections to reduce the size of my uterus so a laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy would be possible. It was! When the nursing staff in the hospital tried to discharge me even though Dr. Johnson had not give the final orders and I was not ready to leave, she stepped in. The next morning I felt much better and ready to go home.

She is a very experienced OB/GYN who allows her perky personality to come through. You are empowered to make your decision based on your choices available. Having been an attending physician who has taught residents, Dr. Johnson is very good about encouraging questions and responding to them.
