Dr, Kevin Spence is a true life-saver. He has been my friend and coworker for over 10 years. I have seen his actions with many patients that were literally life-saving including one of my best friends. This time it was me as the patient. I had an epidural for post-op pain relieve after having my hysterectomy and was given and IV med that I had a reaction to. This led to dramatic blood pressure drops and the feeling of my throat constricting to the point of not being able to breath well, talk or swallow. He magically appeared, on our unit for something else, and was at my bedside so fast. When I saw him I knew I would be OK because I know is expertise in the field and his ability to save me. After his recommended treatment my throat was better and my BP improved. He is calm under pressure and very analytically in is treatment, but still is talking comforting words to his patients and to the staff who are assisting him. Thanks to him and my wonderful nurses I recovered from a very scary episode.
