I started seeing Dr. Watts when he was still at the University of Utah. I had only been to one other ob/gyn when I was first married and did not have a good experience. When we found out we were expecting our first child I new I wanted a different doctor. I was lucky enough to have a nurse at the University recommend him. Our first was born at 24 weeks because of an incompetent cervex. I feel so blessed he was our doctor at the time. He didn't hesitate to take care of me and my very premature baby. My oldest is almost 10 years old now and we are on our third child. I have friends that were not as lucky with their doctors and lost other pregnancies from this. He has always listened to my concerns and has the best bedside manner I have ever seen. (Having a child in the hospital for many months gives you the opportunity to see many in action). My husband even loves how well Dr. Watts has taken care of us over the years!

I saw Doctor Watts after going through a horrible c-section experience with my first child. I continued to bleed for 3 months post c-section, had an emergency visit and a dnc before finally switching to the care of Dr. Watts who immediately identified and corrected the problem (the first doc left some placenta in me, wouldn't admit it, and was unsuccessful at removing it with a DNC) by giving me a 2nd DNC with an ultrasound guide. I had recommended an ultrasound to the first doc and he had scoffed at me and said it was pointless and unnecessary.

I will forever be grateful for his help in a difficult time.

I was fortunate enough to be referred to Dr. Darren Watts after having gone through multiple doctors for my abdomen/pelvic pain. I had been through three previous surgeries of un-experienced doctors in dealing with severe endometriosis and pelvic congestion syndrome. Each of the other doctors told me there was no possible way I'd ever conceive! Dr. Watts gave me a positive outlook! He helped me in so many ways! He actually cares about his patients and listens to figure out what the best treatment is for the symptoms. He is very knowledgeable in his field- more so than any other doctor that I have dealt with both before and since. I am sad that I cannot keep as my doctor as I have moved across country. Dr. Watts takes that extra effort to ensure his patients are taken care of correctly! After surgeries and procedures done by him and by doctor's he has referred me to, Dr. Watts always called me a day or two later to check on me! He's an amazing doctor! My only complaint after my years of dealing with him and his practice is his receptionist. They can be very difficult to deal with. Don't let their rudeness discourage you from having Dr. Watts as your doctor!

I had endometriosis and was seeing a Doctor who did not know what to do with me. His nurse called me and told me to contact Dr. Watts. The first time I saw him he ran some tests and called me with the results very quickly. He removed some cysts, and told me that I should consider a full hysterectomy. I have seen many Dr's and there are those who are not confident in themselves, and a few that are. Dr. Watts is one of those Dr's whose self confidence makes you feel safe. He is a patient and caring professional who never portrays any hestiancy to give advice, refer out, or do any procedures he thinks will help. He has done 3 surgeries on me, the last one he went in and removed some adhesions from a previous surgery and got rid of chronic nausea. This was something I had even gone to the Mayo clinic for and they were unable to help. Dr. Watts is a brilliant Dr, with fantastic people skills as well as medical knowledge. He is without a doubt, as good as they come. It is important to have a Dr. who you can believe is on your side and who has the appropriate expertise for good health.. Dr. Watts is that kind of a Doctor. A few months ago I was admitted to the hospital by another Dr, who I do not trust so much. I called and asked Dr. Watts if he would call me back so I could get his opinion, and he made the time to come by my room and let me know what his opinion of the situation was. I would absolutley recommend him. He knows what he is doing. My quality of life has increased drastically since the first day I met with him. Yours will too!

I have been have abdominal and pelvic pain for seven years and gone to many doctors here in Utah and on the east coast and none of them could help me. They diagnosed me with endometriosis and would try different medications and surgery and when they failed the doctors would give up as well. I searched for a doctor that could help me with my pain and when I went to see Dr. Watts it was the greatest appointment ever. He really cared about me and was really sincere and willing to figure out what was wrong. Dr. Watts treated me for my endometriosis and also found out my SI joint was out of place. After referring me to a physical therapist, doing surgery and getting trigger point injections my pain is almost gone. He is so wonderful and really cares I've never met a doctor that treats you as if you are his only patient and he remembers you from appointment to appointment. I live in Logan and I still drive the hour and a half once a month to appointments because I know he cares and is willing to help. I would recommend him to anyone.

I would totally recommend Dr. Darren Watts for anyone that has severe pelvic pain.
I was having severe pelvic pain for quite awhile and my former doctor would do nothing about it. He even had my mother for a patient and knew she had endometriosis, but would not diagnose it. He recommended I see a dr at the U of U hospital, but that dr was booked solid for awhile, so the receptionist recommeded the other dr in the practice, Dr. Watts. At my first appt he was so sure with the symptoms i told him I had that it was probably endo that I went in for a laparoscopy one month later! Indeed it was, and once we found out what kind of damage had been done, we immediately scheduled a laparatomy for 2 months later. Dr. Watts seems to really know what he's doing, and he really cares about his patients. Each day I was in the hospital, he came in to check to see how I was doing and what progress was being made toward recovery.
I have since had one more laparoscopy, but most of the pain I did have is all gone by way of lupron and then norethindrone. Norethindrone is one of the best medicines out there for endo, and not many drs know about it.
For a doctor who is so young, he is very experienced in gynecology and dealing with women who are trying to conceive who may not have the chance to.
Unfortunately I had to leave Utah, and am now moving around the country with the military and have yet to find as good a doctor.

I was referred to Dr. Watts' partner, Dr. Yamishiro, through my sister in-law. However, Dr. Yamishiro was not contracted through my insurance, so I decided to give Dr. Watts a try. I am so glad I did! It was my first pregnancy, and I had already tried two other OB Gyns and was not impressed. The biggest difference with Dr. Watts was personal attention. I saw Dr. Watts everytime I made an appointment, and he delivered my baby personally. So many other practices have several doctors working togehter, and you rarely see the same doctor twice. I had lots of strange pains and problems with my first pregnancy. Dr. Watts was very sensitive to my needs and thorough at investigating my symptoms and helping me find solutions. And he always followed up at the next appointment. He is very friendly and easy to talk to. He makes you feel like he is your only patient. He remembers you like he has not seen anyone else since your last appointment. He also has amazing credentials so you know that he knows what he is talking about. I spoke with several other professionals in the labor and delivery field who all told me they love Dr. Watts and would recommend him to anyone. If by chance, Dr. Watts is unavailable when you deliver, you can also feel assured that he has a great partner that will treat you just as well. Unfortunately, I moved to Idaho Falls and cannot see Dr. Watts anymore. I trust him so much, I almost considered driving down to see him for my current pregnancy. Unfortunately, I don't want to drive 3 hours to the hospital when I go into labor.

I was having pelvic / abdominal pain since I was in early high school. I had been to 5 different doctors, only to have 4 out of the 5 misdiagnose my conditions, and put me on medication after medication, all of which did not help. The final Dr. diagnosed me with endometriosis, and did surgery to laser it out, but when it seemed to return within the year, she referred me to Dr. Watts. On the first visit he informed me of other conditions I had going on including an SI joint that was out, and chronic myofascial pain. Since then he has been helping me with all three conditions, including another surgery for the endometriosis in which he was more aggressive with the treatment. After the surgery, my husband called the office, and Dr. Watts got on the phone personally to see how I was. Now that's a Dr. that cares! He takes time with you to answer all your questions, and does not make you feel rushed, plus he's still one of the only dr's around that I know of that helps in treating myofascial pain. He also referred me to a great physical therapist, Cheryl Farnsworth for my SI joint, and trigger points. He's a great Dr.

I saw 3 other doctors before I found Dr. Watts. I was actually referred to him by this same website. I decided to check him out because I felt I wasn't getting the care or my concerns taking care of from the other doctors and since Hystersisters-ladies were recommending him I thought that I had a good shot at someone finally listening to me and not treating me like I am just another patient.

All I can say is that he is awesome. I like him because he doesn't come across as an arrogant medical professional but someone down to earth who really knows his stuff. He is very personal, professional and knowledgeable. He takes time to listen. He doesn't rush you. You are made to feel like you are his only patient and responsibility. He also knows when to take the slow route and when to be aggressive in medical treatment. He explains things to you, why and what procedures needs to happen and still listens and takes my rational as well as irrational concerns into consideration. He has a way of reassuring you that his decision is the best way and then explains in detail.

He was the one who finally made me feel confident that having a hysterectomy was the best decision and boy was he right because there was early cancer. He also calls you up on the phone and talks to you as needed and his staff is just as personal and professional. You won't be disappointed.

While I do not have an extensive history with Dr. Watts, I can attest to all that these ladies have said. I was referred to him by my GYN for pain during intercourse and pain/discharge of the nipple. Dr. Watts immediately cured the infection that was in my breast with a simply medication after my prior GYN put me through two mamograms and painful tests. I also started working with him on difficulty becoming pregnant. He is assertive with treatment and investigative medicine so that he can find problem areas and treat them without delay. As for bedside manner, Dr. Watts gives eye contact, listens with sincerity, makes the patient feel important and that you are his only focus while he is with you. He spends time listening and gives creedance to everything the patient says; never discounts the patient's thoughts or ideas. He is concerned about his patients, and I hope I will be able to follow through with him during pregnancy and delivery.

After visiting my regular OB/Gyn several times for pelvic pain and being dismissed with, "I can't find anything wrong," I made some phone calls and found Dr. Watts who specialized in pelvic pain. Before my appointment he mailed me an information packet on pelvic pain and possible causes. At my first appointment he was very sympathetic and showed genuine concern for my problem. He recommended some exercises to try first to see if they would help and also discussed some further testing that could be done if the exercises didn't help.
After trying the exercises without improvement I called and he arranged for additional testing to be done. He never acted like he was in a hurry. He always had time to listen to all of my concerns and answer all of my questions. I eventually decided to have a hysterectomy.
When I had my first appointment with him he was working at the U of U hospital. He moved to private practice right before I scheduled my hysterectomy, so my surgery was scheduled at St. Mark's hospital. After discussing all of the options, I decided to have a hysterectomy that was done totally laparoscopically so that I could leave my cervix intact. St Marks hospital had not had that surgery performed there before (or very rarely anyway) and so when I checked in that morning, the nurses had the wrong procedure written on my admit papers. This was upsetting to me and even though they changed it on the papers, I was still worried. While I was waiting in the hallway in the surgical area for my operating room to be prepped (they had it set up wrong initially) Dr. Watts came and found me and held my hand and reassured me that he knew they had written it down wrong but he had gotten everything straightened out.
The surgery went very well and during my stay at the hospital I had several nurses ask me about my doctor. They were very impressed with his concern for his patient (me) and his respectful treatment of the nurses. They were also impressed with the surgery he performed. They kept coming in to check on my bleeding on my pad and couldn't figure out why there wasn't any. They had never heard of the type of surgery he performed.
I would highly recommend Dr. Watts. Not only is he a very knowledgable and skilled doctor, but he is also a very caring and compassionate person.

I first saw Dr. Watts after four years of unexplained abdominal/pelvic area pain. I had seen 4 gynecologists in 3 states, two hospital visits for excruciating pain, an exploratory laparoscopy and 3 years of "just making it through the day" by Lortab. Every time I went to a doctor/hospital they couldn't determine what my problem was and sent me home with pain pills. They made me feel that it was all in my head. I hate taking pain pills - you hear all about addiction all the time so I would only take the pills if I was flat down unable to walk or function. Several times I would be going along and the pain would be so sharp that it literally brought me to my knees. I hated to go to the hospital or doctor because there was never a reason for the pain and I had been told that there was no other test or course of action... I had done it all and there was still no explaination for the pain.

When I saw Dr. Watts, he took the time to listen to all of my issues, what tests I'd had and how I hated to have any more tests because I didn't want anyone else scratch their head and say "I don't know". He was not rushed to get out of the room to the next patient. Dr. Watts wanted to perform one other diagnostic test - a veinogram. This entailed a sort of iv into the uterine wall, and injecting dye. Then the radiologist would look at the veins in the pelvic area. It really was a magical moment when Dr. Watts came back from consulting w/the radiologist and told me that my problem was called "Pelvic Congestion". I was NOT crazy! There was a reason for my pain! He also explained the reasons why my previous doctors did not discover this in previous surgery.

Dr. Watts did not make me come back to his office for another office visit to get the results of that test like 99% of doctors do. He took an extra 45 minutes with me right there at the hospital radiology department and discussed the 3 options I had. I was given time to think about what I wanted to do. Of course I chose to try to avoid surgery. Dr. Watts supported my decision and 9 months later when things were not better, he again outlined my options very clearly. He did not tell me "You have to do this"... he gave me all the information on all options and told me I needed to be the one who came to a decision myself. I took another month to think, and Dr. Watts returned my calls in person when I had additional questions. When I decided to have a hysterectomy, Dr. Watts gave me several great websites to find more information. He also coordinated my care with a general surgeon to take my diseased gallbladder out on the same day/same operating room.

Dr. Watts is a very caring and intelligent doctor. His medical knowledge is wide and includes obscure medical problems. My story didn't end w/surgery. On the day of my surgery, after I went under anesthesia, Dr. Watts noticed that a mole I had down in an unmentionable area had changed. Because this was not in my consented surgical plan D...
