I switched over to Dr. Sholty after not having adequate response from my previous OBGYN. Dr. Sholty was always very attentive and took his time in explaining everything in great detail. He made sure I knew all available options and that he answered everything to my satisfaction. He even took the time to meet with my husband and do the same. This was far superior to the service that I received at a larger, more well known clinic in town that always hurried me through the appointments and would just send pamphlets in the mail as opposed to answering my questions when I called.
I have since undergone a full hysterectomy and would definitely recommend him to anyone. I found him to be very trustworthy.

I went to Doctor Sholty on May 8, 2007 for the first time for a preconception appointment. My husband had been trying unsuccessfully for months to get pregnant. At my appointment he sat down with me and talked for over an hour. On June 12 I had a postive pregnancy test. Through out my preganancy the whole staff was great. I know that I called several times a week with tiny little concerns and they were always so patient and understanding. Nurse Linda was also awesome too. During my 20 hour labor Dr. Sholty was there the entire time. Unfourantely I had to have an emergency c section but he was so comforting and he did a wonderful job. My scar is so tiny. I would defintely with out a doubt reccomend Dr.Sholty.

I came to Dr. Sholty through a recommendation by my primary physician. I had several things going on with me from frequent abdominal pains and incontinence and night sweats.
The first time I met with Dr. Sholty I had my reservations because of a bad experience I had within the last five years with a previous Dr. I had a bladder sling put in place and had a horrible experience. I was on my back for 3 weeks in pain after the initial surgery with a catheter for almost two weeks. I was out from work for almost 7 weeks.
Dr. Sholty sat down with me and asked me questions like; am I having lower back pain and trouble having a bowel movements. He said this was caused from my uterus being tilted way back and pushing on my lower back and that I needed a posterior colporrhaphy repair to correct the problem with my bowels.
He also said my uterus had dropped and was pushing down on my bladder causing it to leak. This was very frustrating because I am very active in sports and just the slightest activity was causing me great discomfort with the leaking, which meant I couldn't do anything until this was fixed again. He also put in a silk mesh that would stay in place.
After discussions with both Dr. Sholty and my husband we decided it would be best for me to have a total abdominal hysterectomy with bil. ovary removal, a retropubic bladder suspension and posterior colporrhaphy.
It has been two weeks since my surgery and I am total impressed with all the "little things" Dr. Sholty did to help with my speedy recovery. Dr. Sholty made me feel very comfortable and he was very easy to talk to. I was in the hospital for 3 days and I came home with no catheter. I had some pain from the surgery for the first week but was controlled by the medications prescribed. I would highly recommend Dr. Sholty and Baptist Hospital they were both awesome!!

I am 17 years old and was diagnosed with endometriosis September of 2005. Under a different OBGYN's care I went through the laproscoptic surgery and all endometriosis was removed. I was put on a form of the pill so I would stay off my period, so that the chances of it growing back would be small; then to control my outrages emotions, I was put on some type of depression pill. For a year and a half i was in pain everyday, still passing clots and bleeding. I never came to peace with it until I went under the care of Dr. Sholty. He took me off all the pills I was on, because they weren't working, and decided to do another surgery. There he removed the rest of the endometriosis and put me on Ovcon 50 and put me on Cymbalta. I've been pain free for almost 5.5 months now. Dr. Sholty is the most caring man I have ever met. He was honest about everything, and made me feel safe and comfortable. I recommend him to any woman who is looking for great care.

I am a cancer survivor and one who held empty hope to become pregant. I had doctor after doctor tell me that I was not ready for a full hysterectomy because "I might want to have a child one day". As a result, I endured two years of the most painful life you can imagine. My spirit was crushed always and I was bleeding to death and afraid I would end up a drug addict for all fo the pain medications I had to take just to function. When I saw Dr. Sholty he told me straight away the problems, the chances of having a healthy child had dimished (I am 41 yrs of age n ow) and, he told me he could make me feel better. He performed my surgery and true to his word, I felt better very quickly. He is the most honest, tender and compassionate man I have ever met in the medical profession and believe me, I have met a few in the past five years. He was there when I woke up from my surgery and there for the next 8 days at least three times a day .. his office is wonderful and he is as well. I recommend him to anyone and he is cute too (wink).. ;))
