He really cares about women. He was the first to do the laproscopic (sp?) hysterectomy and oopherectomy in Wichita at Wesley Hospital and it was on me. I feel so fortunate to have been referred to him. He had treated me for five years previously with duo hormone pills that ended a severe problem with extremely excessive and prolonged bleeding. This worked for 5 years then I started having some problems that resulted in the hysterectomy/oopherectomy. I had moved to Atlanta for 6 months when that round of problems started. After two doctors and referrals and a D&C with no results, I came back to Wichita to see Dr. David Schuck.
My surgery was on a Tuesday morning. I was home just under 24 hours after. On Thursday morning I got a call about a job with training to start in Kansas City the following Tuesday. The training was on computers so it was not labor intensive and it was for 4 hours a day for 2 weeks.
Because of the procedure that he did that is so kind to women, I was able to start the job one week after surgery. My sister-in-law and othes who had had the old style of hysterectomy all told me I would be virtually bedridden then extremely limited physically for 4-6 weeks. No one could believe it!!! They said I would not be able to walk up and down stairs for weeks. I did it immediately upon arriving home from the hospital with no additional stress or pain.
Dr. Schuck also works with women's incontinence issues and has helped some friends with his sling that I think he developed. It it surgically put in.
I just can't say enough good things about him - his expertise, his care, his demeanor, his sincere concern for the welfare of women and looking for new ways to solve age old problems that are less "cruel" or temporarily debilitating.
