I have had PCOS for years. I am almost 50. I have had years of problems, expecially with ovarian cysts. After being in the ER again last fall with a ruptured cyst I asked a relative who is an ultrasound tech who she thought was the best OBGYN in our area. I followed up with Dr. Bradbury. I was impressed that she had all the equipment in her office to do an ultrasound and that she did the procedure herself. She suggested a partial laproscopic hysterectomy. She took the time to do other "pretests" prior to my surgery and found cancer cells in my cervix. I feel changing doctors and choosing her may have extended my life. I know she, her partner and her staff were some of the most professional I have ever been to. She and her equipment are very up to date. After my surgery she addressed my concerns with HRT and worked out a plan suited to me and my breast cancer risk. I wish I had been seeing someone like her years ago. It probably would have made my quality of life much better!!! I have seen a number of doctors over the years and I feel she is the best by far. She was capable, knowledgeable, understanding, and I couldn't trust her more. When her office found suspicious tests results they jumped though hoops to get the other tests necessary done so that I was able to keep my original surgery date. I ended up having a complete surgical hysterectomy. I feel better than I have in YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still dealing with instant menopause and the crazy changes that happen to your body. I wonder some days what is happening to my skin tone and texture, especially my face BUT I feel in my heart that if I hadn't changed doctors my outcome would not be a good one. I had complained to prior dr. for years about what was happening with my body every month and I was suffering from alot of pain and complications with periods and painful cysts. He kept dismissing my concerns and he was not the first to do so. I think surgery should be avoided if possible, but in my case, even if there had been no cancer, I feel like a different person without the pain and hassle I was constantly dealing with. I had MANY cysts and some of what she removed were bloody cysts and she said several non bloody cysts were the size of oranges. No woman should have to live like I did prior to surgery. Again, it is not a cakewalk dealing with instant menopause and the scare of cancer, but she took alot of time to go over HRT with me. There is alot of breast cancer history in my genetic pool and that was a big concern. I feel she prolonged my life and made my qualify of life much better. I feel safer in her care than I have since I was 15 and had my first operation for a ruptured cyst.
