Recently I requested an appointment online with Dr. Kakani’s office for the visit at his Long Island ENT Ctr. I immediately got a call from the him about further details of my symptoms and an office appointment for the very next day was arranged. Dr. Kakani’s caring attitude and genuine concern was most touching. He had to do multiple tests for me on the same visit and the staff was very prompt and helpful in making sure that everything went smooth. His knowledge and ability to explain things is incredible and that made me very comfortable & relieved. He resolved my concerns / problems (nasal allergy, vertigo & smell issues) almost in no time. And yes, his simple yet informative & effective educational videos on many common ENT symptoms are worth watching. I certainly would want all my family & friends to receive care at LI Ctr ENT health. He is simply the best.

I was recommended to Dr. Kakani as a result of chronic sinusitis. He took the time to explain the issue and the course of treatment. He has one of the best bedside manners of any doctor I have been to. His office staff is wonderful and there is little to no waiting time. Dr. Kakani always has a smile on his face, treats you more like a family friend than a patient, and always makes you feel comfortable. I was concerned about my condition but he put me immediately at ease from the first appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Kakani to anyone who needs an ear, nose or throat physician.

Dr. Kakani is very knowledgeable and detailed in every step of my diagnosis, treatment, procedure and instructions. Never felt this comfortable and confident in any doctor before.

Dr. Kakani is/has:

3) explains diagnosis in detail and offers various options to help with the issues at hand.

After exhausting all of my options, an MRI of my sinuses, and a very thorough review of MRI results, we decided to take the surgical route (no pressure - he seriously only wants you to be comfortable). Dr. Kakani successfully fixed my deviated septum, opened my nasal cavities so I could breath again. His pleasant and professional demeanor make him stand out and I would recommend him to everyone.

I am a 24 year old female & I have had an under active thyroid since birth. At a regular doctors appointment a few months ago we had discovered that I had nodules growing on my thyroid. After having a biopsy done, the pathology report showed suspicious cells in one of the larger nodules. I decided to have a full thyroidectimy. My uncle is an extremely well respected anesthesiologist at a nearby hospital and he recommended that my procedure be done by no one but Dr. Rajesh Kakani. This is the first time I ever had to undergo a surgery so I was extremely nervous. However, Dr. Kakani made me feel so comfortable and safe. I had the upmost confidence that he was going to do an amazing job, and that was exactly what he did! I am now 4 weeks post-op with no thyroid and it's almost like it never happened! I feel totally fine and my scar is already hardly even noticeable! I left a message for Dr Kakani one evening to ask him about a cream for the scar & he called me right back even though it was after hours just to check that everything was okay. This just goes to show how genuine he is! I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon, he made me feel so comfortable before, during, and after my surgery. He is a wonderful, I highly recommend him! 5 stars all across the board!!

Dr Kakani is very thorough, explains the exam and is reassurin, he helped me many years ago and he has a great bedside manner.

In April 2016 I had thyroid surgery and Dr. Rajesh S. Kakani was my surgeon. Dr. Rajesh S Kakani is a Board Certified Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeon. I must say that he is one of the best (if not the best) Thyroid Surgeons on Long Island. I was very nervous about the procedure because this was the first time in my life that I would needed surgery. I had an enlarged thyroid ( over 6 inches) and it would have to be removed because it was so big. It was actually crushing down on my windpipe causing me to cough every time after a meal.
A thyroidectomy was the only solution at this point to correct the problem. However, when I learned about how it was done I was very concerned about the procedure. He was very reassuring and that calmed me down a lot. He then went into a more detail explanation of the surgery. I must say he is very knowledgeable in his field and he answered all our questions (even those that we thought were silly) during consultations. He actually spend over an hour with me and my wife. That just does not happened in today's society and that is what seal the deal for me to go with him.
I had met another doctor for a second opinion prior to Dr. Kakani. I found him to be an excellent surgeon also, very nice person, actually came highly recommended. But after meeting with Dr. Kakani I was very impressed with him right from the start. He has this way of speaking that is very reassuring. He told me that once I am in his care he treats patients like family and I must say that he was true to his word.
On the day of the surgery I was a bit anxious and again he reassured me that everything would be fine and it was indeed. He was also able to save all my parathyroid's and that was a major issue for me. He is a very skilled surgeon to be able to save all four because I was told that it was a difficult surgery. My recovery was almost pain free. I didn't need the pain medication that was prescribed and the scar is almost gone after two months post surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Rajesh S. Kakani if there is someone out there in need of thyroid surgery. It is always a good thing to get a second opinion but I know that once you meet the rest you will come back to the best and that is Dr. Rajesh S. Kakani.

Dr Kakani was referred to me by my internest Dr Cordaro. I had a severe infection with fluid and pain in my ear. Dr Kakani really listened to what I said and was very reassuring. After a thorough exam including scope, hearing exam, and pressure testing, Dr Kakani assured me that no damage had occurred and the medication I was receiving was very appropriate and I scheduled my next visit before I travel.
I have not stopped referring Dr Kakani to anyone who needs a great ENT specialist.

I would recommend Dr. Kakani to everyone. He is the very compassionate and will never make you feel as if you were rushed out of your visit. He is great at what he does. I personally give him 5 stars.

The experience I've personally had at Doctor Kakani's office begins from the initial phone call.. where the staff is always willing to assist you and they are very helpful indeed; followed by an office visit with such a comfortable ambience - tv, magazines & even Hershey Chocolates. And then, Dr. Kakani with his pleasant smile and he's very welcoming -he makes you feel as if you are a part of the family at his practice. I have been a patient of his since 2005 (had my tonsils surgically removed) and all I can say about his overall service is that.. he will exceed your expectations!.. Pre-Surgery & Post Surgery, he's there to see you get well all the way through. I have never had a major surgery prior to Dr. Kakani and I will admit, I would never have a second thought if he needed to perform another surgery (I had very minimal discomfort &/or pain). He's amazing a true professional in his Medical craft and delivers positive results... "I'm proof of it"... Thank you so much to his Staff & Dr. Kakani.

Dr. Kakani performed a hemithyroidectomy on me on May 6, 2013. The surgery was performed at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Since the first time he saw me, Dr. Kakani was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and made me feel at ease and in good hands. He said I should not be worried and explained all the options I had clearly. His staff (both at its office and at the hospital) was simply amazing. The surgery was quick and basically painless. Everything went exactly as Dr. Kakani had anticipated it would (my lesions were indeed of adenomatoid nature). Dr. Kakani is not only extremely competent (having done many hundreds of these surgeries), but he also has a great attitude towards patients, coupled with outstanding bed-side manners. I highly recommend Dr. Kakani and his staff, and thank them dearly.

He is the most caring,,professional Doctor I've ever met . Makes you feel whole, answered questions with a lot of patience, has the best staff, would recommend him highly to all who feel other Doctors have failed them, he is " the " doctor of the year .. I have / had been misdiagnosed so many times, his diagnoses was accurate and very helpful .

I have been a patient of Dr. Kakani's since October 2005. I still see him even though I live in Southern New Jersey now. He is an expert in his field and is very compassionate with his patients. I have had 2 bouts with tongue cancer and he performed surgeries, does follup care, and routine exams for me. Dr. Kakani helps he understand what is going on in laymen's terms. That makes me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Kakani.

I met with Dr. Kakani to treat polyps in my sinus. I could not breath at all through my nose. He sat with me and went through everything that could be done, had me watch a tape on the surgery proceedure and spoke with me again. He told me to go home and talk with my family and come back after we decided what was best for me. I decided to have the surgery and he then met with my husband and explained everything to him. The surgery went great and I had no pain after it. From the day of the surgery I could breath throug my nose again. I have been meeting with doctor Kakani every couple of weeks now and we are hoping they do not come back. I felt that both Dr. Kakani and his staff were so helpful to me. Knowing each step to do with both the surgery and planning it and always treating you with respect and kindness. The Doctor himself called the day after the surgery to see how I was feeling. I would strongly recomend Dr. Kakani if you are looking for a doctor.

Dr Kakani is a gifted physician. His knowledge, expertise and beside manner together are trememdous. I wish all physicians had his calling and stood by their hypocratic oath as he does. He saved me from surgery believing in me and my request for choice of antibiotic and length of therapy repeating CT scans until I was healed. He has always been there for me no matter what ails my ears, nose, throat or thyroid disease. I was very blessed when my Endocrinologist, Dr Sanjay Sahay, his colleague, sent me to him when I needed medical help and advise.
