I went through a few years of pain and getting blown off by many doctors, until Dr. Marchetta saw me and took me seriously. He operated and so far I have been much improved. He was obviously a busy doctor yet took the time to talk to me and let me know he cared. He seems to be someone who cares about what he does, and for endometriosis patients, that is unfortunately not always the case.

Where do I begin? He is simply the BEST. Not just knowledgeable - but always on the cutting edge of everything "new" by way of treatment. I have complete faith in him. He has brought me through a partial hysterectomy, endometriosis and a final hysterectomy. There is no procedure available that he doesn't know how to perform...which results in a minimally invasive result.

In addition, he knows how to comfort my concerns - and is always reassuring about whatever needs to be done. His confidence rubs off on me.

Though he is very busy, you will never feel rushed out of the office. You may be sure that he will listen to you and answer any questions you have - until you understand the answers.

And don't underestimate the value of a great sense of humor. While he is very professional, he can enjoy a great laugh, too.

I can't recommend any doctor more highly than Ross Marchetta!

After multiple surgeries to remove endometriosis and adhesions, including a hysterectomy with unilateral oophorectomy, I suffered from pelvic and abdominal pain that was chalked up to IBS. My GI doctor stated that the IBS was likely caused by adhesions from my previous surgeries and no doctor would operate on me because they'd leave behind more scar tissue. That's when my OB/GYN referred me to Dr. Ross Marchetta and his use of the daVinci robotic surgery, which allowed him the ability to remove adhesions and endometriosis without leaving behind more scar tissue.

Dr. Marchetta is currently the Director of Robotic Gynecological Surgery at Akron General and also leads the EPICENTER training center for Intuitive Surgical at Akron General Medical Center. But it's his bedside manner that sets him above the rest.

Prior to surgery, he answered every question and never rushed us out the door. He did everything within his power to keep me comfortable until surgery. He came to visit prior to surgery to put my fears at ease and stood right next to me telling me it would all be okay in the operating room until I was asleep. After surgery, he went to my husband immediately, explaining my surgery thoroughly and patiently answered all his questions.

I would recommend Dr. Ross Marchetta to anybody needing any pelvic or abdominal surgery. He is one of a kind and a leader in his field.

I had a robotic hysterectomy 6 days ago performed by Dr. Marchetta. I have been a patient of his for nearly 20 years and have total confidence in him. I did not have any worries concerning Dr. Marchetta's capabilities. My recovery is going very well. I am amazed at how good I feel. I stayed one night in the hospital, returned home after 36 hours and was immediately able to walk up and down stairs, lay in almost any position I desired, walk around the house (this was reccomended to me by my nursing staff in order to prevent blood clots) and what ever else I desired. This was all very important to me because I am an active person and was not looking forward to laying around. I am now on day 6 and feel wonderful, like I am ready to do most of my regular activities (except Zumba-latin dance!) I am very thankful for the care given to me by Akron General Hospital and Dr. Marchetta.

I highly recommend Dr Marchetta, I have been his patient for 20 years now. He delivered my child many years ago about 5 years into his practice as a MD and while in labor my baby's heart rate dropped drastically. Dr. Marchetta immediately went into action and knew exactly what to do in order to save my unborn baby as well as sparing me a c-section. A few years later Dr. Marchetta performed laproscopic surgery to treat severe cervical dysplasia he was there for me again. I was never nervous about the surgery because I knew I was in good hands. Now 12 years later I went to see another OB/GYN for a routine pap our of convinence. To my surprise I was told I needed a Total open abdominal hysterectomy.and that there were no other options for me. needless to say I was scared to death of having my stomach cut open by a surgeon I barley know. Immediatley my thoughts went right to Dr. Marchetta and knew I could get the best advice from him. He saved the day again and told me about the davinci robotic surgery. I wasn't surprised at all and knew I could count on him for a better alternative. I cant say enough about what an incredibly compitant Ob/Gyn surgeon Dr. Marchetta is. He is the best of the best and extremely knowlegdable in his field. He is always on the frontlines of the pioneering of new technology and passes the benefits on to his patients. The customer service Ive recieved over the years has never been matched by any other Dr. He is a down to earth nice guy, man of integrity and has a great bedside manner and will leave no stone unturned when it comes to treating and caring for his patients. Its no surprise that over the years his practice has become a great success. Everything always has to be the best of the best, I dont think ordinary is a word in Dr. Marchettas vocabulary. Its seen immediately from the time you walk into the front doors of his offices. He has become a very busy Dr. and you may have to wait awhile to get in, its so worth the wait.

Dr. Marchetta was recommended to me when I got pregnant again after several previous miscarriages. I saw just about every OB in his office and although most of them were kind and experienced as soon as I met Dr. Marchetta I felt at ease.

He makes you laugh, looks into your eyes when you speak with him, is knowledgable and deeply compassionate. He won't judge you for any of your questions or worries and I can always hear him in the hallway prior to my appointment joking with all of the staff.
He is wonderful, I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Marchetta is the most caring, compassionate OB/GYN I have ever met. He is the only doctor to give my condition a name (endometriosis). Prior to finding Dr. Marchetta I had been through 7 long years of trying to find someone to address my female issues. Upon my first meeting with him - he looked at me and said that we are on to something. God bless him. I've been with him now for over 12 years. He has never once been passive. Each time I present with new endo problems, he is there for me. I didn't want to have a hysterectomy when I first became a candidate (almost 12 years ago) and Dr. Marchetta was extremely supportive with me. We tried everything from Lupron injections; to repeated laps and hyss; D & C's and endometrial ablation. I am finally at the point that I feel no stone has been left unturned and he is going to be the doctor who will perform my laparoscopic supra-cervical hysterectomy with unilateral salpino-oophorectomy.

In the past, Dr. Marchetta has held my hand while I am placed under anesthesia. He talks kindly and gently to me and it brings such comfort. He always follows up with a personal phone call when you arrive home to ensure you're doing okay.

Dr. Marchetta is the only person I will ever allow to take care of me in such way. He's the best of the best. He's professional and very experienced. He's knowledgeable without being cocky. He's personable and passionate about what he does.

Dr. Marchetta is a wonderful doctor. I had a robotic hysterectomy 9/08 and he is very skilled at his profession. I would recommend him to anyone that is considering robotic surgery. He is very experienced in his field and truly cares about his patients. His services are always excellent. Akron is lucky to have a physician as skilled as he is.

Dr Marchetta did my vaginal hysterectomy on 8.18.2008 & I feel fantastic.I truly feel I was in the best hands in the Akron Ohio area.
He was & is very open to discussing my concerns and fears, he even held my hand before falling asleep prior to surgery<this meant the world to me, and calmed my fears>.

Dr. Marchetta is a very laid back easy going physician, with a keen sense of what a patient needs in terms of a confident, professional surgeon with excellent bedside manner. He is up to date on all OB/GYN practices, he is very knowledgable about women's issues and after all of the years he has been in practice, it is obvious that he still enjoys what he is doing. Go to him with confidence that you will be well taken care of by an excellent physician/surgeon with a competent staff, clean, tasteful surroundings.

Dr Marchetta has been my OB/GYN since I was a teen, and he has always been incredibly professional, proficient, and caring. His offices are relaxing and pristine, which helps you feel at ease. When I ran into problems with Endometriosis, he was thorough in diagnosing and he has been a top notch surgeon to control the problem. I couldn't recomment Dr Marchetta more highly should you require an excellent OB/GYN.

Of all the doctors I have been to, Dr, Marchetta has shown more caring and consideration. I am very obese and he has not let that stop the care I received. I have had that problem from others I must say. I am also very afraid of surgery(hysterectomy) and he made me laugh to ease my fright.

He has called me at home to check on me following previous surgeries.

He listened to what I said and what I was feeling. By doing that he caught something bad. If I had waited for the normal visit I would have been in very big trouble and he told me that.
