I am a 40 year old patient who has seen Dr. Alford for nearly 10 years, and I recommend him to any woman looking for an MD focusing on women's health. His specialty is gynecology. He listens, asks the right questions, has an excellent bedside manner, is thorough in his explainations of your condition (if applicable) and all possible options. Dr. Alford performed my hysterectomy 5 years ago, following other treatments that provided only temporary relief for my fibroids and ovarian cysts; then surgery last summer for severe endometriosis. He was there every step of the way, holding my hand in the OR to encouraging me throughout the recovery process. You won't find a more competent or compassionate gyn anywhere.
