Our son was born with an undetected cleft lip and palate on 2/22/09. We were immediately referred to Dr. Semba by the Neonatologist and the Speech Pathologist at Rush Copley. Upon arriving home with our new baby, we began our search for the perfect cleft clinic to treat our son. We did not have to look for very long!
Dr. Semba replied to our email very quickly and within hours of first contact had phoned us from her personal number. She spoke with my husband and I about our son, reassured us over the phone and made an appointment to see us the next day. As soon as we met her and the rest of the team, we knew there was no decision to be made. Dr. Semba put us right at ease and explained how their team operated and answered all of our questions.
Our little guy had his first surgery in June and she did a remarkable job! Everyone comments on what a miracle worker she is! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Semba.
If you're looking for a children's plastic surgeon, first let me say that you will get through this hard time, and second, Dr. Semba is definitely the person that will help you do just that!
