He is actually an oncological gynecologist. I was terrified when I referred to him because I had a "mass" -- my regular doctor thought it best for him to do the hysterectomy in case of malignancy. I was told he was one of the best in his field and that he had a national reputation, so I expected him to be cold and business-like -- not so. He is absolutely wonderful -- very straight-forward, sensitive, takes time to talk with you about his findings AFTER you're totally clothed --in his office. In my case he did not initially recommend hysterectomy, in fact he said he thought it was endometriosis and he wanted to just wait and see, so when he told me "it was time" 6 months later (when another "mass" appeared), I had no reservations. I sailed through the whole thing with minimal pain and I attribute that to his high level of skill. He visited me several times during my 2 day hospital stay. He has a nice, easy style and a good sense of humor. He agreed to be my regular gynecologist after the surgery, and it appears there are a lot of other women who adore him. I don't mind waiting 1-2 hours every year for my annual visit. He's a prince!
