Dr. Abu-Rustum is a great human being besides being competent professionally. He excels as a surgeon and is also an extremely sympathetic and caring person. His competence in medicine makes surgery seem easy though necessary. Dr. Abu-Rustum makes each patient feel important and has a personalized approach to cancer care. A certainly good doctor who makes "hope" visible and viable.

I would highly recommend Dr. Abu-Rustum. I had a full hysterectomy due to Stage II Ovarian Cancer in August of 06. Not only was he compassionate, he also explained the procedure fully that you can understand what exactly was going to be happening.

His staff and everyone at Memorial Sloan Kettering made you feel comfortable and the feeling you would be taken care of.

My recovery and all follow-up visits have been a pleasant experience as well. I am happy and healthy today because of him & his staff.

Dr. Abu-Rustum is the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. He is a specialist in Gyn/Onc. This wonderful man answered all of mine and my husband's fearful questions in a kind and unhurried manner. He spent about 1 hour with us after almost no waiting time for him. Everything he said held true before and after my surgery. The man should be made a saint one day. I was very lucky to leave Memorial Hospital cancer-free, but even if I didn't Dr. Abu-Rustum will always be remembered by me and my family as the best physician I have ever met as a patient and as a nurse for 27 years. I recommend him highly to any women in the New York area who have any gynecologic cancer or the threat of one.
