Dr. Stark is my PCP for my HMO plan. I went to him for the first time with a mental health issue after a devasting harrassment issue at work. He listened to my concerns, was very understanding that my anxiety was real, prescribed medications that helped me returned to work and also asked about any other issues. I mentioned I had been short of breath climbing stairs for several months but attributed it to age or weight. He ordered some blood tests to be sure. He didn't make me feel bad about my weight. He could tell I already new I needed to lose weight and saw no need to add to my depression, like other doctors have in the past.
I turned out to be severely anemic and needed a blood transfusion. The day after I found that out I was laid off from work. Dr. Stark was amazing and helped me get speed up access to the gastroenterologist because my insurance would end at the end of the month. The quest to find the cause of the anemia led me to a gastroenterologist and my ob/gyn. We ruled out colon cancer, polyps, ulcers and fibroids. My ob/gyn diagnosed adenomyosis and I just had an LSH to fix the problem.
If Dr. Stark hadn't paid attention to the rest of me, I might have collapsed climbing the stairs and had something much worse to deal with.
Although he was rushed like any doctor, he took time to get to the heart of the problem and was very easy to talk to. A nurse at the hospital where I had my LSH said he was her doctor and she thought he was awesome as well.
